Really don’t see how this isn’t already a modifier. In what sense should someone get hit with the full 20% progress loss when they were legitimately fighting a 4v5 for 2 minutes. Slap the leaver with the full 20+% loss, give the other 4 a reduced penalty of like 5 or 10% for losing and a bonus if they happen to win.

They should instead just close the match as soon as someone leaves without punishing anyone (Like what happens when someone, albeit extremely rare, gets live banned or when someone leave within the grace period when the match starts) except the one who left by giving the leaver a 1% gain only for their next 5-10 wins…
Make Alt, play with friends, leave before completion to add points to win or mitigate points from loss.

Lessen the amount of times before leaving gives you a temp ban, then temp ban grouped players as well on repeated leaves. Still means that people either A) have to buy accounts to repeatedly abuse it or B) they have to go and grind out 50 wins on a fresh account which takes the people abusing it out of comp for a few hours. Either way it becomes really counterproductive to try and abuse the modifier
