I’m originally a Chinese player if my name didn’t give it away. I’ve played Overwatch on PC and was given the option to change the language to 中文. However, when I bought the game on console, it wasn’t supported. I know I speak English, but it’s all about comfort. It comes natural to read Chinese. Even the characters sound weird because I am so used to the Chinese voices.
I know I should’ve wrote something like “Add Chinese Language Support”, but because of region lock, I realized many languages aren’t supported depending on where you got your copy.
Edit: Since many seem to have a hard time reading my post, I’ll make this extremely clear…
the American copy only supports 5 voice dubs: English, French, Spanish (LatAm), Spanish (Spain), and Japanese.
The game does NOT support Polish, Russian, Korean, Mandarin (Mainland), and Mandarin (Taiwan Prov.)
I’m asking if in the sequel, the UI and voiceover language can be modified so that players like myself can have a more comfortable experience.
You can change the language if you change the language of your entire console (though not every language is available, some region locked) but I would love to have the text and audio languages be manually selectable. I also think it would be a fun touch if they had an ‘international’ audio option where each character would use the VA that speaks their native language.
This. Just change the language/location of your console in the console’s settings, then when you launch the game, it should be in the language you selected.
Multiple people, myself included, aren’t having the problem you’re having. People here aren’t intimately familiar with what languages are or are not supported. I’ve listened to multiple languages on console and would expect Chinese to be there. Many people would, too.
They agreed with you here and then tried to offer a suggestion because they don’t know the details of your situation.
If you’re saying “wow did none of you read my post?” you may not have been clear enough.
Also, I don’t know if it’s a language barrier thing or if you’re rude, but you’re coming across as talking down to people.
