I’m aware you can ping an enemy but they might not be aware that it’s behind them and some people don’t use voice chat. voice line command meaning a button to press, similar to saying thank you or you’re welcome.
honestly all of the chatter gets completely drowned out by the fight and even the ping icon gets harder to see with every new ability they add
I know as a primary shot caller Im completely biased, but punishing those who don’t even have coms on not even if you don’t talk but if you don’t have coms unmuted you should 100% be subjected to whatever happens to you next. It would make heros like reaper a bit weaker also if you could just ping where hes tping to with a warning like that. (Besides him it already pings his tp location).
I think they can integrate that into the ping itself.
The pings are indeed not very noticeable when the person is not even looking in that direction.
Actually this is a good idea. Also if there is not a “spread out” voice command, there should be one. Especially if you hear a rip tire.
Just ping or join voice
I mean… there’s an automatic system where you hear a teammate’s character speak when you’re hit from behind. It doesn’t add audible clutter to other players, nor does it automatically decide “oh, hey, there’s an enemy in the vicinity whose position is unknown; let’s give them away before they can actually start doing anything.”
That would be asinine.
There’s really no reason not to add this seeing as thanks and you’re welcome already exists as voiceline which I’m sure does not give any competitive advantage to use. I’m not suggesting to add an automatic voiceline that just says that there’s an enemy behind if he hasn’t done anything.
But ppl didn’t notice those automatically triggered “behind you” voicelines. Would adding a ping help much?
… So what are you looking for? There’s an automatic function for teammate characters to say “look out behind you!” if an enemy shoots your back, and like you said, we have the pinging system.
so what are you looking for?
I’ve already explained myself well enough, thank you.
I have to ping twice for people to notice, so it’s a nice system but all the audio/visual clutter makes it hard to tell pings if you’re not paying attention.
I do wish I can tell where snipers are when my character says something about seeing a sniper. I’m always like, “WHERE?!?!?!”
I like character auto call outs, but they sometimes get muffed like pings. I’m not sure how to fix it. I wish we could lower ally sounds.
You really haven’t. I wouldn’t be asking if you had.
We have the automatic voices, we have the pinging system. You’re asking for a voice line that calls out people behind the team. It’s already covered in the game in two different ways, so you’re somehow asking for something else. I’m just trying to figure out what that actually is.
BEHIND YOU, AAAAAAH!
asking for a voie line that they can trigger same as we can bind hello/thankyou etc , just saying , enemy behind us . what is so hard to understand about what they want ???
not asking for automatic one , asking for a keybindable voiceline …
Behind us is a relative term, based on ones orientation
I knew they weren’t on about the automatic one, but this makes more sense. Thank you. Now I can’t contest it because it isn’t a bad idea. I wouldn’t use it, myself, though. Pings are effective enough.
Would be nice but lots of people are hopeless when it comes to awareness and are usually tunnel visioned on the first thing they see. You could ping a Cass that is ulting in the open -while standing still for the longest duration possible -
and there is always a chance above 0% that your team won’t react or even look for cover.
Exactly, I know I’ll get the same people on my team sometimes but if your not in coms you should be punished for that it gives flankers just that little bit of extra sparkle to actually get there job done, or me when Im flanking on Baptiste. I don’t want someone rapidly pinging my flanking Sombra with his I WANT YOU TO DIE TO THE SOMBRA!
