I think this would be worth a try at least. The worst part about the current mode is that you might not have 2 tanks. Or you could still end up with 3 DPS and only 1 support or something. I ONLY want to play 2/2/2 if I’m playing 6v6.
Think that tested it at one point but had massive leaver problem, because last 2 to join were forced into a role they likely didnt want. Maybe could add preffered role like they have for preferred hero in ban system? Or at least add a way for people to swap roles in between rounds.
i dont think so, or maybe i missed that? cant believe i missed it since playing this game for 10 years. i never really take breaks. well i think i stopped playing for 1 month tops … not sure lol
Dont think it was a public test but i feel like i remember mentioning in a vlog last year about private testing they had done. I might be remembering wrong tho.
That could work, but only if nearly 1/2 of the people in queue were doing flex. Would have to be tested of course but i feel like that would make things even longer since would have 4 seperate queue and dps would still have a vast majority.
I really cant think of a way to make everyone happy and still fix queue times. Would make people mad, but maybe have normal 222 but you cant queue same role more than 3 games in a row?
I don’t think that they did. I for sure would have tried it, but I don’t remember it happening. And it’s not like I ever really take breaks so of it happened then it was extremely poorly advertised. So I don’t think that it happened.
Sounds like a queue that has all the worst qualities of queueing for all roles and open queue.
I’d rather wait longer for a match where I know I’m not going to be stuck on tank. If I want to run that risk or have shorter waits, I can already queue all roles. This solves a problem in a way that is much worse than existing options.
It happened in QP back in 2019, when they introduced (222) RQ. They brought it into Comp first and left QP as OQ - except that the 222 role limits were in effect, probably by accident.
Two people would be locked out of every role except tank and there was a good chance that at least one of them would leave. People complained about QP being max 2 min 2, and it got fixed fairly quickly.

force teams to run 2 dps like og RQ enforced bc nobody trying to win would play 2 of the most useless role that can only do 1 thing.
I do like to play tank, But not whatever the devs call these post s12 things thats not tanks, those are nuclear powered aircraft carriers in a bathtub war.
I would return to one tricking tank (maybe not since banns but without s9, s12 and banns, I’d be a tank one trick. Not even joking.)
but with banns people force the tank to play garbage heroes (anything slow is a approved hero for them. and then they cry about snipers)
Not playing tank when supports can decide I have to play a slow piece of crap.
Currently only playing comp to target bann supports. Sadly I am always alone banning supports
we really need to increase banns to 6, 2 per role.
