I’ve been testing this method recently, and it works. Ahem.
Step 1: Pick mobility. Soldier, Genji, Tracer, Lucio, whatever works.
Step 2: Pay very close attention to the death cam.
Step 3: As soon as your Mercy dies, go pick her up from spawn.
Step 4: Enjoy having a friend request every game and someone willing to literally pocket and die for you for the remainder of the match. No joke.
Not to mention you’re not harmful in any way like this, you’re literally benefiting from making someone happier. Good on you pal. Go have fun.

yeah. chances are if you’re nice and invite a healer after a match and continue to be nice in general (saying thanks every now and then) you’ll have a healer

That too! I actually feel really compelled to say thanks every time I’m healed, to the point of kind of thinking I might be annoying my healer haha??

nah. i’m a healer main and the only annoying voiceline for me is when “I need Healing” is spammed. Getting thanked for healing makes the job 100000% more worth it. But I hope you don’t get into the habit of thanking because you feel like you need to xD like just thank them when you really feel grateful

I spam I need healing if I’m super low and behind my scoped-in Ana just to get her to notice me, bc I don’t wanna get in front of her and stuff. Only then, only twice or so!
And that’s the thing though, I do feel grateful p much every time? Like “you took the time outta ur busy hectic day to heal me I owe u my life”, how can I not thank 'em. I thank my Tracer when she gets a double kill with a stick, why not my healers when they do their job, y’know?
Plus, having Mercy spam thanks because she didn’t expect to be picked up is just the cutest moment ever. The player is so happy and amazed? It’s really one of the reasons as to why I love playing this game.

I wouldn’t consider that as Spam. If anything I appreciate the call out since we do get tunnel visioned at times.
Me too! I usually say ‘Thank!’ when my team gets important kills like an enemy widow
Hahaha. Yeah. I reply with a ‘Thanks!’ or an ‘Understood.’ everytime someone thanks me. if feels good to be wanted xD

Y’know what!! Y’know what!! You’re such a sweet person, I wanna ask if I can add you?
Hahaha! yeah sure
Tho I’m not that active in game due to me trying to focus on my thesis but go ahead
That’s completely fine! Focus on studies and all that! We can play some when you have the time ^^

Agreed “I need healing” is very annoying when spammed, especially if they spam it after they or I Die. Highly obnoxious and irritating. It’s perfectly ok to use I need healing normally how it’s supposed to be used. Sometimes I actually get annoyed at my friend who I play with because he doesn’t ever use it.

I definitely understand the part after death, that just feels like they’re telling you “I’m not doing well right now and it’s all your fault, you should be here, and I’m blaming you for this.”, yeah? Must feel really bad, especially after they’ve failed at their job of peeling for you.
Sorry for that on behalf of us DPS mains, we’re not all egoistical power-hungry dicks, I think. Maybe. A little bit. Okay, like 5% of us definitely isn’t.

Haha, yeah I know there are good DPS mains out there. It doesn’t even have to be DPS mains who do it. I remember when I was playing CTF and I had a YOLO charge in rein on my team who solo charged into the enemy team every single time and of course he died and then proceeded to spam “I need healing!” “I need healing!” “I need healing!” “I need healing!” As if me healing him for his solo charges would’ve made any difference in the outcome.
That Reinhardt played… well, he might’ve thought he was the juggernaut? In either case, he wasn’t doing his job as Rein whatsoever, you’re really not supposed to charge offensively at all. Not to say you’re not supposed to pick up kills or anything! But you don’t try to make plays with charge, you counter other people’s plays with charge. Use it to peel the Genji off your supports, not smash your face into a wall and all that.
I remember this really nice game where I did the thing as mentioned, picking up Mercy from spawn every time she died, and she’d save her rez just for me due to this? And it felt so bad bc she’d literally risk her life sometimes to rez me and I said “Mercy you don’t gotta do that I feel awful” bc I’d die right after getting rezzed and feel like a big ole’ FOOL but she just said “Hush. Nonsense.” and it was honestly the most touching moment I’ve had in this game??
Just goes to show how good it can feel to work together with your team and love them, tbh.

I got spawned late into a game setup, I picked Mercy as they lacked a healer and asked people to “group up” not expecting anyone to care. The Soldier answered, came and picked me up, and the rest of the game he made sure to protect me from flankers, put down his healing field when I was in trouble, and in general made my life easier.
He’s one of the very few people I’ve ever accepted a friend request from. And I’ve pocketed him sooo hard many games after because I know if someone targets me he will help me and not abandon me. Can’t tell you how many times he’s saved me with perfect Zarya bubbles, that man is support player’s dream…

LOL I almost felt like proposing after some of the times he saved me from my own bad positioning… especially the times when I was going to get blown to bits by a D.VA nuke and he perfectly bubbled me, risking his own life, just to save me.
Sadly I’ve never actually spoken to him outside of text, I have some social anxiety. But he really seems like a great guy!
