Activities to do during queue time?

So say you are commited to playing only DPS characters (the developers said the queue times may be longer for highly populated roles) and you want to be able to do something to pass the time.

What would you like to see the devs add as an “off-time feature”? Yes, skirmish exists, but im talking something that could even link into player progression, in digestible, fast modes.

Perhaps, just let a player select an arcade mode that slots in during queues for competitive. I dunno.

What do you think ?

They could go in other directions from workshop modes, or maybe a pausable single player mode.

The dps queue times have been pretty good on ptr.

I’m not at all sure they will be bad on live.

If they are even being thrown to the training room would be pretty good.

I usually

Go get a drink.

Check my phone.

Watch a video or something.

Listen to some music.

And much more. There’s a lot of stuff to do while skirmishing.

The fact that you still cant even join practice range while queuing is ridiculous

They should add a feature to play custom games while waiting in queue. Do some genji parkour while you wait.

As for existing things? Well, there’s always knitting. Keeps those fingers nimble.

Well, when 2-2-2 hits live, you could always start a career, lets say, mechanical engineering. Go to college, study, graduate and come back to play your 10 min game.

I just alt tab all the time. If they are fairly long at the time, ill prob play another game in between, watch a show, read etc.

I just skirmish and awkwardly wave at the enemy until I get into a match.

  1. Read the forums
  2. Watch Netflix/YouTube/Hulu
  3. Read Comics/Manga (if youre into that kind of stuff), or a book
  4. Listen to some music
  5. Grab a quick drink or snack
  6. Play another game (like a quick phone game or something)
  7. Open Loot Boxes
  8. Look/Change stuff in the hero gallery
  9. Play Skirmish

They can’t really do anything about it, it’s the wrong type of game to sit in long queue’s in.

At least in WoW you could go farm, do world quest and so on, in Overwatch you can just sit and browse hero gallery or tab out and look for a new game.

I won’t be playing if the queues are long, pretty simple

Skirsmish is still a thing but it’s clearly not on par with what you can do in WoW when you’re in queue.

Only thing I would want is practice range
