Acti stock is growing back

This beast has too many heads for anything to take it down lol.

Was obviouse … bigger question will be how it goes with the investors lawsuit and sponsors droping out. Blizzard needs a new game very soon and it better is a hit.

I imagine, if things keep going badly, they might push ow2 out VERY soon. Most likely with unfinished PVE ( they can patch it in as time goes ).

The probably bigger issue is that all the good devs left.

Who else other than Jeff tho?

Let’s not forget Riot ended their run-in with sexual harassment allegations by simply permanently shutting down forums, which quenched the fires enough that it forced the plaintiffs to come to the settlement table…settled out of court for several million dollars if what I’m told is correct.

Blizzard will likely attempt a similar move if situation gets dire…if the fires get too out of control, bring forums offline (given how much trolling goes on here week in and week out, and given how much devs use Reddit nowadays, probably won’t miss much), quench the fires enough to force plaintiffs of all types to come to the table and ultimately settle any outstanding lawsuits out of court…then get OW2 (and a redesign of OWL, assuming OWL goes under) out the bloody door as fast as possible (though likely without PvE mode to start with as you noted, OP) and return to status as King of Video Game Studio Mountain.

Edit: Also, given how much presence ActiBlizz has in Eastern countries, ActiBlizz won’t be going under as fast as it would in Western countries.

I agree with all !
But man if they shut down forums they might as well remove that ā€œevery voice matter ā€œ thing lol. That would be a very comunist move.

Apparently almost everyone … many left after Activision came in and founded new companies, hundreds were fired a while ago and I asume it’s not gonna get better any time soon.

There are 2 directors now so I guess the issue is considered ā€œsolvedā€ from their side.

it has lost its meaning long time ago (at least for OW) so it doesn’t even matter.

Activison is a lot more than just blizzard, COD probably has more players than all blizzard games combined

Bouncing up to test the 9 moving average, which it has been respecting for a while now, with much less volume than previous recent moves.

Maybe I’ll short it

The stock price was always going to quickly recover. The sponsors who left will either come back or be replaced by early next OWL season and everything will continue as normal.

Right now the most important thing for Blizzard is to do two things: release quality products thus giving people a reason to come back and make sure they remove any trace of the bad culture that came before. The former is for obvious reasons but the latter of course exists because if they get this same story again then its they are in huge trouble. A story like this salvageable so long as it looks like serious steps are being taken to fix it but if it happens again there is no real PR that can solve the problem.

ahh the ever fickle stocks. A single news headline can shift it either way lol sometimes I wonder if any of it means anything.

Blizzard is only one part in the portfolio.
It was expected that they recover soon if they can say ā€œdevelopment is going wellā€

Bruh this is a massive stretch. To say that the forums closing forced them to settle is just not true. Nothing said on the forums would have been evidence in a civil case - rather the group just preferred not to spend what could have been years in court talking about potentially very traumatizing things and therefore it’d be preferable to talk a settlement and walk away with your sanity intact and a guaranteed payout

ā€œif a company takes the most capitalist option possible in order to make the most money for its’ shareholders, they’re clearly a bunch of communistsā€

People who don’t know what communism is are hilarious :joy:

To be honest, I don’t think OW affects the stock price at all. They haven’t mentioned it in the last few investor calls bar a few cursory mentions of viewership in OWL and some progress in OW2.

As long as CoD and mobile brings in cash, they are ok.

They also had a better than expected quarter.

Those people thinking that this dip was serious just haven’t got experience of the stock market.

God, please. This place is a trash fire.

Of course it’s growing back.

If your goal is to make money, now is the perfect time to buy. There’s been nothing to indicate that Activision-Blizzard’s long-term money-making prospects look all that bad.

If you bought low, you’ll be able to sell in a few weeks for a nice little profit, all thanks to the state of California and angry gamers.

Isn’t capitalism wonderful?

I’m gonna bet their stock takes another hit and investors dump it again before it recovers. I’ve made more money the last two weeks betting against blizzard than working my regular job.

Edit: started buying put options the day they announced OW2 would be dropping a tank slot. Literally printed money every day since.
