Accurate leaderboards

I check overbuff from time to time, but people often tell me this is an inaccurate source for data. Is there something better? Does blizzard release it or provide an API?

If blizzard ever show you any actual data, you will uninstal the game right after.

There are no official stats available from Blizzard. People say Overbuff is unreliable because it only tracks data from open profiles, and the vast majority of profiles are set to private since that’s the default setting.

I wonder how all the stats released by devs on Rivals are received by their community. I think they provide pick rate, win rate and ban rate on every hero. I think we here worry that people would go overboard with adhering to meta or yelling at teammates because their hero has a slightly lower winrate than ideal. I think OW would do great to give these stats.

The Rivals stats are per role, but it’s better than nothing. I’d like to see OW stats, but they’d be misinterpreted and used for negativity by most, so I understand why we don’t get them.

Not sure I understand what ā€˜per role’ means versus what I assumed the stats to mean. I think it just shows every hero’s win rate and pick rate, separated by (if you want) QP and ranked, and then specifically each rank and PC vs console. I think they only show ban rates during blogs when discussing metas so I was mistaken there on ban rates

That’s good info I hadn’t known that.

I notice on overbuff that data from ā€œpast monthā€ doesn’t show hazard. Is this because their API hasn’t been updated or am I using the site incorrectly?

No blizzard does not release the stats. Every once in awhile they will list top performers in a blog/interview but thats it. Overbuff is still the best thing we have. As far as it being inaccurate, it gathers its data from public profiles and since the default profile setting in game is private that means that it is only collecting data from a minority of players that have made profiles public.

The heroes are separated by role. For example, if Jeff has a 22% pick rate, that doesn’t mean he’s on 22% of teams; it means, when a support is picked, it’s Jeff 22% of the time. I’d be most interested in overall pick rates regardless of team comp.

Not sure on that one. It’s an independent site, so they might not have updated. I don’t see it either, so I don’t think you’re using it wrong.
