Access denied to battle.net folder

The battle.net application cannot wake up.
Games cannot update.

I tried following advice that said to delete the battle.net folder in ProgramData however I am denied access to said folder.
I tried deleting it - access denied.
I’ve tried changing owner - access denied.
I’ve tried changing anything on it - access denied.

I am the administrator yet cannot access this folder and it is very likely the reason I cannot use the application. I am now completely unable to play Overwatch because of this.

Please help.

Sounds like you do not have Administrator permissions, or malware is blocking your normal access to things on your operating system. Have you restarted? Have you run a program like MalwareBytes to check for issues?

I’ve restarted many times and have the same issue. My user account has admin privileges and all users theoretically have full access to the folder. I only have issues with that folder; I can change the owner and permissions for other folders in that directory.
I’ll try running malwarebytes.
