Abusing the report function

I post this here because this has the potential to cause technical issues for me if it continues. I have received a second warning for abusive chat and I feel it is unjust and unfair. Do you review every complaint a player makes against another? Do you bring up past chat history when issuing these warnings? I have reported genuine toxic players spewing racist and sexist chat, but what is stopping players from reporting other players for an easy attempt to mute them because they disagree with a strategy, or just feel like being a jerk? I am sorry, but I have a hard time believing each report is reviewed and these “phantom” bans are based off of report quantity. This is the issue due to quantity over quality. If players get upset in competitive because they are asked to switch, or not be toxic, what is stopping them from counter reporting? A flawed system that needs to be addressed before you continue to mask major issues with skins and Twitch events.
*I will add that I am by no means a perfect Overwatch player, and I enjoy having fun while in a match. That being said, I have never said anything racist, sexist, or offensive that would warrant a ban. With the amount of trash that circles global, arcade, and competitive chat, how can you justify reports based on someone having a bad day or just being plain salty.

Are you referring to this warning?

If you are getting this warning, this is a clear sign that you are being consistantly disruptive in a majority of your games. At this point, it is clear there is something about your behavior across multiple games that the Overwatch community does not like.

I think it is important to know that any form of abusive chat can be remarks that is not necessarily considered bad language. For example if you are consistently unconstructively flaming your teammates (i.e. “You are such a bad player! Uninstall now.”) then you will be reported and likely actioned for abusive chat. As the Blizzard Code of Conduct specifically states:

Blizzard will not reveal any details to the process on how they identify those who are consistently disruptive in their games. If you are seeing the warning dialog pop up I strongly recommend carefully reevaluate how you treat other players. Remember we all want to win, try our best and have fun playing Overwatch, but this should never come at the expense of abusing other players verbally (regardless of the language used).

But they should reveal what caused the ban to the player that is being banned. You would ask why you were being arrested when getting put in handcuffs, so how is this any different?

Receiving that message only encourages me to refrain from chatting or interacting with the lobby; because someone feels unhinged enough to report the Hanzo/Widow for one shotting them out of spawn, or the Roadhog who keeps hooking the into the well.

There is zero order to the report system, and your suggestion to be a more kind person is insulting. I’m reporting you.

Silly, right?
