I don’t think there will be new news, surely we will have another leak soon, it is the only way that there is information apparently, some marketing geniuses at Blizzard.
Jon Spector DID answer some questions on Reddit and Twitter. I’m pretty sure they will get some information out people are just going to switch off from the whole idea of playing OW2 if they don’t.
They could be very… light on details though, which would really annoy people.

Ok, lets fill you in.
So, Blizzard was updating their website, and it showed that the new heroes have to be unlocked with the battle pass.
If you pay for the watchpoint pack, you get the support hero right away, rather than having to grind for her.
So, you have have a situation where you need something to swap to counter, but they can’t because they haven’t unlocked the hero first.
So, basically you are now in a position, where you can pay for a hero right away, or have to grind out the battlepass to get your hero - and since new heroes are usually OP as hell…

TLDR? Blizzard was updating the Watchpoint Pack’s fine print and did an oopsie and told everyone that new heroes, starting with Kiriko (Fox girl), will be locked in the BPs.
You can buy for immediate access or grind on the free BP.
Thus everything is on fire.

Overwatch 2 will have seasonal updates on a regular cadence and a Battle Pass that will feature new content including new heroes, game modes, maps, cosmetics, and more!

We found what they were editing when they messed up the watchpoint pass.
They were changing the small print on the pack.
