It was put into the game as a joke. It wasn’t seriously meant to stop toxicity. if you want proof, just type a racist slur ingame and wonder why it’s not replaced with a joke.
If only “ez” is being typed, then its okay, but it would just punish other countries if “ez” itself would be filtered. For example in my country “ez” means “this”.
Why? I play on PC most days.

I think, while funny, altering the text of ggez was nothing more than fun. When the enemy team spams those phrases you know exactly what they are typing.
A single instance of altering someone’s text to as a joke in the game is fine, but if you try to start using it to decrease toxicity? Absurd.
