no, it’s not a good deal, this is an update to overwatch and it can call itself overwatch 2 if it wants but it really is still just overwatch 1 because there is no 2 that exists to be released

you by all non-legal rights paid for the campaign by buying ow1 and probably deserve it for free

mtx makes more money than game releases by far

know your worth

…What $40?

Are you talking about the Watchpoint Pack? The Watchpoint Pack does not include PvE.

It has two legendary skins, season 1 premium battlepass, and 2,000 VC (confirmed enough to buy 2 more battlepasses). There’s no official way to gauge the price, but my guess is it’s worth $50 in a $40 package.

PvE is not included in this. PvE will be part of subsequent content seasons in 2023, and we have no idea how much it will actually cost.

PVE is not included with the Watchpoint Pack.

It’s a terrible deal. You’re essentially paying $40 for a battle pass you don’t know the contents of, some in-game currency for an in-game shop that has yet to be revealed, and a couple of skins.

It is most likely a pretty good deal actually. Three battle passes and two legendary skins for $40 :man_shrugging:

Battle passes and skins used to be entire games with no further purchase required or even encouraged. I’m sorry your sense of things has been irreversibly destroyed.

For me, I was born after they put corn syrup in all the soda.

It’s a good deal in the sense that you will most likely be spending less than you would’ve had to if you bought the items in the pack individually.

It hasn’t, I just understand basic maths. I have no plans to purchase any cosmetics :+1:

I have no further comments for specifically you.

its not a good deal for anyone that has bought the game… you know like everyone on the forums, then those who bought the game between 2016 through May 2022 because those who did not buy the game, gets the game plus everything inside of the watchpoint pack for $40.

those who bought the game between 2016-2021 are literally paying for a second copy of the game to get access to a very cool, very shiny battlepass that will give very cool, very exciting, very ground breaking voicelines and skins.

ok?

Dude doesn’t know that they can just not reply :joy:

If you do some calculations for what the prices of each item in the pack most likely are, you will find that they all add up to a value of around $40 minimum. So in that sense… it does not seem that the value of the game was factored into the price at all.

You get access to potentially three battle passes and two legendary skins (Which have been priced at $10 each before)

If the items in the pack are of interest to you in general, then it is most likely a very good deal. If the items in the pack are not of interest to you in general, then you have nothing to worry about because it’s an optional purchase.

You basically unlock three battle passes considering the currency, if i remember correctly in an ama they said that a battle pass was priced at 1k currency and since you get 2k plus the first pass, yeah, three, basically 9 months worth of content for 40$

There’s also a chance you’d get currency from buying the pass as well, so in theory you’d need to spend less whenever fourth pass comes along

I’d say it’s worth it but details are still in the air so maybe just wait until we have more info, the pack will be available for a good while

wow a whole 9 months… thats so amazing. god damn, never realized

I already addressed this. The value of the game was most likely not factored into the price.

Spend less time accusing me of not using my brain and perhaps you’ll understand.

yea tell yourself that to justify spending $40 for the watchpoint pack and everything and keep giving blizzard money when they havent done anything for the game.

Like I already explained, you can do some pretty basic calculations to work it out.

I have not bought the pack, nor do I currently intend to. Get better arguments buddy.

I have, not sure what’s the intent behind that guy but honestly what anyone does with their money is their own problem, furthermore the thread is asking if it’s worth or not, what does he think we’ll talk about in this thread? lol

The watchpoint pack isn’t to buy ow2. It’s currency, battlepasses, and some extras. If you care about cosmetic items, then it’s a good deal. If you don’t care about cosmetics and just want to play ow2, then you don’t need it. Ow2 is free to anyone who wants to play it.

man i see this thread come up again and again lol, the 40 dollars was for getting in the beta 2 early as possible along with the content creators. everyone else had a chance but most had to wait till the last 4 days…

also it included a free battle pass when the release happens (oct 4) and 2000 currency whatever that will be…

still people are buying expecting it to be either buying into overwatch 2 OR getting to play beta access thinking it wasnt on a 3 week time limit

kinda sad and one of the reasons blizzard loses trust with some consumers… trickery

yea well if you use your logic and your basic maths like you brag about… use it.

because 1.) overwatch costs $40 (when not on sale for $10 or $5) 2.) beta access 3.) the battlepass 4.) 2 skins 5.) the virtual currency

trying to say that its a “deal” for people that already has the game is flat out wrong and youre deluding yourself trying to say its a deal for everyone that has the game already because hmm 9 months… hmm free content… hmm. but i obviously offended you since you flagged my post for being rude or what not.

my bad dude

No. The $40 was for the battle passes and skins. The beta access was the free part.
