The whole point of the mythic skins was to being able to customize the skin, so 2 people in the same match wouldn’t have exactly the same skin… this is more noticeable with Genji, Sigma, Ana, etc (the very first ones)…
So… can we stop getting “leveling” skins? I mean… look at Reaper, Widow or Juno, for example… you don’t buy all tiers of the skin to have multiple options, but just to have the “whole” skin, and then, 90% of the time you only see the “max level” skin but with other color. Idk if you know what I mean.
I hope I’m not alone in this boat xd.

I agree, it really sucks and I think the Reinhardt one is good, but also has that same problem with the glow on level 4.
Also, there’s no longer any weapon options, because it’s just expected that you’ll pay full price AGAIN for a different ‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘‘mYtHiC wEaPoN’’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’‘’ that doesn’t match the theme of the main skin at all, for instance Mercy’s two Mythics.
The Mythic Weapons aren’t customisable at all, the entire point of a Mythic, and they also have that same leveling up problem where the ACTUAL weapon is hidden behind a maxed out pay wall and everything below maxed is just ugly and useless.
Straight up drop the price to 40 Prisms at most, the Weapon itself, it glowing on every kill and it banishing people to Hell with every kill should be part of the Base Weapon, and the Flourish should be free for all skins, IDGAF what Blizzard CEOs have to say.

I’m fine with it so long as the final level of the mythic looks good. Not preferred but it does need to be good.
Ana’s mythic is an example of one that I don’t care for at all despite the options.

YESS. Finally someone sharing my point in “”““mythic””“” weapons, where you just pay 80 prisms for a LOT less than the full mythic skin

IKR?!
I’m never getting Bound Demon for Reinhardt, because I’ve already got the fabulous Iridescent Thor, and that axe thing with it’s red fire straight up looks ugly with the Galaxy Weapon Skin.
At the VERY least the Mythic Weapons should change effect colours depending on if you’ve got the default, Gold, Jade or Galaxy skins equipped.
And it’d also be great if we could customise the particles as well, because I of course want purple lightning to match the rest of my skin.

Yes, some they look really good. I’m #1 widow hater, but I admit that I like her max level skin… but man… where’s the customization in that? It’s just a glorified and stupidly overpriced legendary at that point (if you don’t have the prisms).
In my case, I customize a little my sigma and genji skins after a while, and that’s why I didn’t bought any mythic since season… 3? (Junker Queen)

JQ was Season 2, Kiriko was Season 3 and Sigma was Season 4.

It depends.
A lot of the recent ones have felt like “why wouldn’t you just do maxed out everything and switch up the color every so often” (I felt this way about Widow’s).
Juno’s I will, in fact, use the lesser levels of the outfit because they’re not just scaled back; they’re different. For example, I prefer the shoes on the lower level ones than the max level ones. I think the shorter socks with the very blatantly unnecessary garter belt is fun to use sometimes. Heck, I don’t even always use the glowy upgrade. I’d probably do the same with Rein’s and maybe Zen’s if I owned them.

Ah, true… it’s been too long hahah. Yes, my last one was Sigma’s then
The thing is, everyones preferences are different: some like more subdued, while others like extravagant. Having the multiple tiers is what makes it so customizable!
Juno’s Tier 4 Hollow Heart Mythic I didnt care for but her 2nd pastel Teal skin is top-tier for me. For Widowmakers Spellbound Mythic, I liked the green Tier 1 version the best with all the SFX on. The top-tier version isnt always the most desired.
Yeah, at least you get what I mean. That’s exactly my point.
I’m not judging anyone if they like the lesser levels, but that’s what I’m saying… I barely see someone using the lesser levels because “why would I? I paid for the full skin”
Fully fully agree. The tier unlocking doesn’t make sense with the concept of a mythic skin. Go back to making UNIQUE designs that tie in together

Yeah the only hero that I full send the first mythic level of is Reinhardt. Need to show off his beefy thighs and chest. Can’t remember if it’s 1 or 2. But it’s his best.
You’re right though. All levels should be equally interesting and ‘mythical’. Not just the final level.
Hanzo got jibbed the worst though hah. Poor guy just got colours.

The issue I think OP and some of us are having is that… Tier 1 and 2 are just legendary skins for some or maybe even most of these heroes. They aren’t mythic until you reach tier 4.
For Mythic skins, all options should be equally mythical. Not gatekept at option 4.

I just wish they’d make the mythics a flat 80 prisms and replaced the leveling with anything else. I don’t care, add a hair option to Juno where she’s wearing it to the right instead of the left, literally anything would be more meaningful than intentionally making 3 worse versions of the skin
I think it’s supposed to be a cope option for if you don’t play the hero that gets the real mythic.

I wish u could swap her hair: I wanted the Sailor Moon blonde hair with Juno’s 2nd Tier outfit. Thatd be perrrrfect!
Can we also get different versions of mythic weapons. Im a rein player, the mythixh hammer is okay but for 80 prisms, would be nice to have difference styles, not just a demonic hammer with demonic kill effects. Idk if i missed something but the whole demon vibe the hammer has, really doesn’t fit the character of reinhardt _(‘-’)_/

This is why I don’t care for mythics. Less value and appeal than the collab skins, so go for those instead of mythics.

Well said. I completely agree — the point of mythic skins is to provide premium content with equal value across all tiers, not to gatekeep the “cool” parts behind upgrades. If a glowing effect is core to the skin’s identity, it shouldn’t be optional — it should be there from the start.
Sigma’s mythic skin nailed it: it gave players meaningful customization without making one version feel inferior. That’s the standard all mythic skins should aim for — variety without compromising quality at any level.

It’s a cheap way for them to avoid putting extra work in ig. And a cheap tactic to keep players grinding the BP…
