Aaron Keller confirms perks in 6v6

See and then people get upset when we say they are sabotaging. It may not be on purpose, but it’s sabotaging through amnesia apparently.

Why?

Why are we putting perks, into 6v6?

You guys do realize you gave orisa her shield back with perks, currect?

You guys do understand what meta can come out of orisa having her shield back correct?

So why? Are we supposed to trust that you guys can prevent double shield 3.0 when you couldn’t even properly balance it for 3 years straight?

I hope you guys learned and DO balance it, but this just seems silly. Let 6v6 just be 6v6 man.

Because perks are fun and will likely be as divisive as the 6v6 v 5v5 game mode.

Because the base game is now perks. So naturally almost everything will now have perks. Even custom lobbies will have forced perks since it’s put into the foundation of Overwatch.

Well they probably should’ve thought about giving orisa back her shield then as a perk, knowing 6v6 tests are happening.

So like I said…

Amnesia.

Perks are also easy to change up, if Orisa’s shield is to strong then off it goes to get replaced by Flying Spinny-Spear or something else.

I don’t doubt they are.

The problem and only hesitation I have for it working, is the dev team.

Now, there are more options for dealing with double shield than before

But also

For gods sake we don’t want the perks in 6v6

Who’s we? I want to try it for the 6v6 test.

What did they realistically add to the game, that provides better double shield counter? Cause I mean from the heroes they added… Junkerqueen? And even then it’s really only her axe swing. That’s about all I got.

I’m fine with perks in 6v6.

Ram ignores shields, Venture goes right past them, Tankfist and his multi-punch

The perks do allow for more counter play as well, and none of Sigma’s perks are defensive and don’t improve his shield or grasp.

Ngl… missed the patch where they gave ram back shield piercing. stopped playing at the time

Well, I’m not sure what people expected. 6v6 wasn’t supposed to be a “classic” mode. It was just an extra tank player so that players can feel like tanks are killable, could play as an off tank or as an extra backup tank, or have an extra peeler for the backlines. Otherwise, it’s going to play basically the same as 5v5 when it comes to passives, builds, armors, etc. you know the base systems of the game. The only real significant change are like health values and some cool downs.

Of course they are…

The Idea of 6v6 is not a total reversion to ow1, it’s 6v6 with the current list of heroes, and similar if not the same gameplay evolutions.

Won’t be an issue as long as they don’t force 2-2-2.

If you’re not forced into a role, double shield won’t be a problem.

Why would it not have perks…it’s a test to see if they are gonna swap the game from 5v5 to 6v6, the game has perks, if it becomes 6v6 it will still have perks…

The 6v6 comp season is going to be open queue, with a max of two tanks.

considering that tank is the least played role,it will be exceedingly rare for the majority of 6v6 games to feature 2 tanks and rarer still that they will run double shield. Many maps have been reworked for 5v5 so there is less reliance on choke point stalling (more flank routes ,more cover etc) and if all else fails rammatra exists…

Fortify DMG reduction + Healing from teammates made OW1 Orisa way too durable up close to brawl and dive heroes (it removed her weakness of being rushed/dove), the barriers themselves are not why Orisa + Sigma were meta, it was each of them having a strong up close sustain ability as well.

I wouldnt mind Perks in 6v6. Some Perks do very little anyway.

6v6 modes are basically joke updates at this point. It’s clear that queue times won’t work in 6v6 so 5v5 is here to stay. You guys hard your chance to queue tank and chose not to so what do you expect blizzard to do.
