As you can see, the sprays for Season 14 Competitive Mode is up but it doesn’t make much sense. It appears to be a Doppler Radar of sorts buried in snow. Now there is a Doppler radar in Ecopoint Antartica and in Watchpoint Gibraltar, but we already had a spray for Gibraltar in Season 8, and Ecopoint Antartica is an arena map which does not make sense for the season 14 spray. So that being said, could we be looking at a new map hint already?
That being said, assuming this is a hint of a new map to come, what do you think it is? If anything, I do believe the next map, regardless of where and what, will be a new Assault map (a.k.a. 2CP) as there has not been one since Horizon Lunar Colony and all 3 other core map types now have 5 maps to play off of.
Maybe. While they didn’t announce a new map at Blizzcon, they worded it in such a way that it sounded less like they didn’t have one, and more like they didn’t want it completely overshadowed by the new hero. Which makes sense really.
If there is anything that is perplexing, is what other places would they introduce that is in a winter environment. We already have Nepal and Volskaya Industries both of which have a Competitive Play season spray.
The other possibility, and this is extremely wild speculation, is that we are finally getting a new core game mode to be added to the Quick Play/Competitive Play rulesets which does use the arena maps like Ecopoint Anartica, but I don’t see how much of an effective large-scale mode would be in those maps.
Yes, but it does not make sense to have it as the season 14 main competitive mode icon. Ecopoint Antarctica is not part of the main Competitive ruleset.
But by definition, Team Deathmatch and Deathmatch are arena type game modes. Remember this spray is the Season 14 of the MAIN Competitive Mode icon which Assault, Escort, Hybrid, and Control maps are played on, so it makes little sense to have an arena map for the spray.
