A thought occurs

At this point if y’all HAVE to ban Sombra every match…it’s a skill issue. Genuinely with as long as she’s been around, and how her kit works, everyone should have a general understand of how to look, unless you’re quite literally BRAND new. I’m not a Sombra main, but the thought just occured.

No one likes facing her.

That’s the reason.

Very funny. We almost believe.

I find it enjoyable but I guess that’s just me liking a fun challenge

Nah if you have basic awareness and teamwork skills sombra is not a problem whatsoever

I do not HAVE to ban Sombra every match. I just want to.

It’s not a challenge…Sombra is bad. She’s just not fun to face.

Idk the point of this post

Ran full force into the point and still missed it

It’s not a fun challenge, though. Sombra is an annoyance.

I think it’s ridiculous to waste a ban slot on her too. She’s not strong, and is easily countered by the bare minimum of coordination, but having to turn around and acknowledge her presence at random intervals is annoying, not engaging.

From her team’s perspective, she’s also probably not pulling her weight. Sombra needs disruption to be happening around her in order to accomplish anything. Otherwise, she’s getting countered like above.

So, it makes perfect sense that neither team wants her. Which is sad because she’s fun to play (when circumstances allow), but understandable. It’s not a “skill issue.” It’s a “this is not how anyone wants to play the game” issue.

If there was some sort of skillful element to “always divide your attention” then sure…

But I’m gonna agree. She’s just annoying.

She’s not unbeatable. She’s not OP. She’s not some sort of skillcheck…

Just the most annoying character to have on the other team OR yours if the person just wide flanks the whole game.

Both teams likely just don’t want to deal with what playing with or against sombra entails.

Now I don’t ban Sombra myself, it’s honestly a waste of a ban slot in my opinion

But people are not banning her because of a “skill issue”

She’s just annoying

Questron (probably one of the most well-known sombra streamers if not the only one) recently made a video giving some explanations as to what is happening, and honestly I kind of agree with what he had to say.

As a quick summary, Sombra IS really irritating to deal with but at the same time, her design forces her to do it. As he explains, Tracer and Genji have defensive cds that allow them to dive but not fully commit to a kill. Opposite of that, Sombra has everything packed into one ability, whether she gets in or out, and all of her utility/damage relies on killing as quickly as possible. So as he mentions, in her current state, she either goes full in and gets the kill or does nothing.

I hadn’t really thought about that to be frank, and it is ultimately his personal opinion, but it’s one that explains the disconnect between people who love Sombra and people who hate her.

So maybe if they gave her more options, they could get rid of her burst. Beyond that, who knows, people will hate and people will love. Only took 6 years for people to stop blatantly hating Brig.

No, you just don’t have one. It’s not a challenge to face Sombra. It’s a chore.

Doesn’t matter what you think the issue is. People are going to ban what they want. :person_shrugging: I like Sombra. I don’t mind playing against her, I don’t mind playing her.

I don’t care if she gets banned.

As a lone threat I agree. Sombra is pretty underrated though if she has a dive partner. Since OW2 release and even before she’s seen decent pro play. I know I’m a bit biased but I’ve always felt Sombra was better than people give credit for.

It is. People will tell you they know how to deal with sombra, theyre just annoyed but soon as they start to talk about whats annoying them, the picture becomes very clear that they in fact suck at dealing with her

It sends shivers down my spine now that you have made me recall that Tracer and Sombra strategy that boosted duos everywhere used. I was a Kiriko main for a few weeks… Let me tell you.

I don’t like facing the entire support role and believe the role should be removed or reworked. Sombra is a nonissue, support mains are just children.
