A theory on A Mei Voiceline?

We all know mei’s all about the ice and freezing. She has a voiceline where she says “You have to let it go”.
Do you think this is a reference from the Disney movie Frozen, from the song Elsa sings?
Just something that crossed my mind. :cherry_blossom:

It’s absolutely a Frozen reference.

Yes. I’m pretty sure her voice actor actually confirmed it somewhere.

Thank you, I honestly had no idea the voice actor would have confirmed it, I figured it was just kind of an Easter Egg.

It is. In German it’s even more clear because the voice line in German is the “the cold never bothered me anyway” part. With the same melody as the song.

It’s a Frozen reference.

Otherwise it’s a guilty confession that she holds no weight on any mortal life she takes. Causing her personality to just shrug off all the death around.

Could be either one really :man_shrugging:

She’s talking about you clinging on to your loved ones. She’s going to drag you with her to hell and there’s nothing you can do about it. Just let go man.

It is :stuck_out_tongue:

Just like hanzo has a pokemon reference in I choose you Spirit Wolf/Dragon
or Moira as Prof Farnzworth with Good News Everyone!
A ton of heros have references!

Since we’re doing Mei voiceline trivia, I’ve also heard that her “Sorry Sorry Sorry” line was actually Mei’s Voice Actress apologizing for messing up a line reading that they liked so much they made it an actual line.

Might just be a rumour though.
