A stationary shield should have high HP

Revert Orisa’s shield.
ENOUGH is ENOUGH.
:persevere:
I am tired of seeing her shield shredded like it’s not even there.

It’s stationary.
Trying to provide cover for a small area.
It NEEDS more HP! (900)
I guess some DPS players can’t handle a stationary target.

I think the biggest thing with Orisa’s has been I only use her for particular situations. In the past, she was my literal go to tank in open queue because she was legit the only tank that could survive largely on her own without much assistance from allies because CC effects were ineffective and spam needed to be higher.

Now, I pretty much only use her as a tank if say hog is taken, the enemy tanks are dive tanks, but the enemy team has like a zen, ana, or widow/ashe. The 600 hp shield while small is still very effective at disrupting ana/zen/widow plays with few shield break units in the field. In addition, Orisa can challenge units on high ground and at range a bit better.

If the enemy team is running a super strong shield break comp with like junkrat, s76, baptiste, zen, etc. I’m 100% not running Orisa on my own. I’d rather go 1600 hp rein shield instead. Maybe even Zarya for all the spam absorption.

Orisa can’t get buffed when she’s one of the best tanks in this game at the moment.

Just wait for OW2, Orisa will 100% be the better tank you want. I might even start maining Orisa when OW2 comes around.

In some games, it feels like she doesn’t HAVE a shield.
Do you know what I mean?
It’s like a wasted ability slot that does NOTHING.

Orisa can’t be buffed because double shield, and they’re not going to rework anything because OW2 will make that comp impossible to run anyway. Orisa at this point can only really be played with Sigma, and MAYBE Dva on specific maps. Orisa is honestly used for pull and high dmg output at this point, the shield is just to help with rotations and holding a bit more space.

Well, yeah Orisa use to have a beefy barrier. I wouldn’t mind if they revert the previous buffs and give her a better shield.

Double the cooldown and then maybe. Ideally just remove anti-fun shields from the game and balance things another way. More HP and / or armor.

Yup. They’ve buffed everything else in her kit but it hasn’t made a difference. Losing that shield health hurt way too much. I would gladly revert a few buffs in exchange for a 900 hp barrier

Anyone who uses the word ‘anti-fun’ as any reason for balancing is already not for balance, they’re for the game being fun for them. Believe it or not, there are people who ACTUALLY enjoy playing Orisa.

Stationary shield = more HP?

I feel every game being pirate ship… Hell no :stuck_out_tongue:

Balance and fun don’t need to be at odds with eachother. I’d love to have both and it is definitely possible, but the way tanks were designed in Overwatch are fundamentally flawed from the get go. Making the game less fun isn’t even making the game more balanced.

I guess you are in the “can’t handle it” category.

Fun is subjective, balance is not, meaning they can often be at odds with each other. I think Orisa is fun, personally, even though I don’t play her much because I’m an OT player.

Ha, I know what to do, but whether the other 5 people on my team have the coordination to jump on Bastion at the same time is another story! More likely they all jump one by one into the meat grinder :stuck_out_tongue:

Nobody wants to “handle” shooting at infinite barriers for 90% of the match. Maybe if the game had a real barrier buster hero that you could switch to counter double shield. Even as it is right now it is really overpowered and very boring.

Shooting lower hp shields to me is fun I think to a number of people. Largely people who might have issues hitting stuff. Taking a high damage output unit like Junkrat actually feels sort of satisfying against shield comps. Similar with units like S76 who have a high amount of just raw damage output can feel like they have a place in the team.

Destroying shields is a strong supportive effect regardless because it forces tanks frequently to back off. It forces certain tanks to stop advancing altogether. Rein sort of stops swinging when his health drops to like 200 hp and just holds shield trying to not die. Same with Winston usually not going beyond the scope of his bubble.

Shields in the past where frustrating because the window of opportunity after their destruction was too short. With them being weaker now shields are honestly not an issue.

high hp, higher cooldown right?

If you buff Orisa Shield which i’d be up for say it gets 1200 health then has to have the cooldown start when the shield is downed i’d say as long as 4 second without it (maybe 4.5 even seconds) since Rein is 5

I think the trade off would be fair enough make her bulkier & more of a trench tank but give her a weakness that exposes her

I rather have a better gun for orisa, check that powerful railgun soujourn is gettin, cant compare it with orisas joke weapon

She’s a terribly designed hero–like most post-launch heroes, tbh.

Primary fire is depressing.
Halt is laggy.
Shield is trash.
Critbox is massive.
Movement penalty is horrible.

She’s just anti-fun. A really, really, miserable creation and horrible for Overwatch matches.

Really bad work by the hero design team, imo.
