A simple nerf to mccree that doesnt totally make him useless

the problem about mccree is mainly his flashbang and FTH, so i thought of a really small change to both abilities.

Flashbang

Distance of stun decreased (so youll have to be closer to the enemy to actually hit them)
Flashbang can only stun one enemy at a time (now i think it can stun 2 or 3 players im not sure)

Fan The Hammer

1.5 second cool down (and dont worry theyll add an icon for it im sure)

i always thought that mccree is more of a picks hero, sort of like widow, or doom, you go in, get a kill, and roll out. so i think these changes would be suitable.

Cooldown on FtH dosn’t work from a design perspective. He uses the bullets he has to activate the ability so imagina a player activating it while he has say 2 bullets, he just wasted it. On the other hand you can’t make it always shoot the six bullets because then you have a spam problem, he will use his normal six bullets then FtH then roll then six more bullets then FtH and so on. Even aesthetically it doesn’t work, how are you going to make the reload work with that? The better option is to nerf its damage a bit.

I dont believe his FB is the issue. so I don’t think they should change it in any way.

if they gave him a 1.5 second cool down his roll wouldn’t reload his gun if that’s ehat you’re going on about and in my mind the 2 bullet thing you were talking about wouldn’t exist because if the player pressed the FTH button it would just fan the 6 bullets

Then you would also be nerfing combat roll.

As I explained in my previous post, if you make it so that FtH always shoots six bullets you have a spam problem now.

Kay, then just give him that 2 bullet thing you were talking about lol, makes McCree players watcg out more and i think it will be a decent enough nerf

Blizzard repeatedly nerfed Brig’s Shield Bash which was and is an inferior form of CC when compared to Flashbang, in both effect and ability to execute. So I see there being no reason not to have Flashbang be the focus of nerfing. I’d have no problem with being flashed and fanned if the flash actually required more deliberate use rather than throw it haphazardly in the general direction or even your own feet followed by the fan with or without roll. So many people are so ignorant to the actual effective region which flashbang use can be executed.

the radius of flashbang should deffinatly be lowered if it stays with the current effect, atm it’s 3m and I would say 2m (or even 1,5m) would be enough, so you actually have to aim it more.

FtH back to 45dmg/shot and reload back to 1,5 (now its 1,2 if I remember correctly). And yeah, that would be enough.

Yes, nerf the damage. I’d rather see FTH do less. It currently does 25-50. I’d say 25-45.
