People always ask to remove headshots from storm arrow. I personally HATE that idea. Why should you not be rewarded for landing headshots? Why reduce the skill ceiling of a character / ability?
What I think would be a solid nerf to his ability to break barriers specifically would be to reduce or eliminate the damage storm arrows does to barriers.
Now you suddenly don’t have double-sniper comps with insane barrier break, especially with the upcoming PTR changes. Snipers should be the most easily shut down by barriers compared to other DPS roles.
His biggest issue is against people. With all the nerfs shields already have, I don’t think that’s an issue anymore. Why need a shield buster when they’re already weak? His problem is being a sniper with long range, mid range, close range and a 5 second mobility tool, along with wall climb. He is immune to being dove, halted, and he can bust tanks and Squishies with no risk.

but, yea, i do agree with you that his problem is more with “people”
and i don’t personally care about him vs barriers, i just think it’s sickening to have a “sniper” in melee range spamming until he gets a headshot, making him either worthless to the team because he doesn’t do “enough”, or hard carrying because he’s just deleting people from the game at any range

I figure about 25 damage on barriers would be about right.
Still allows for 250 damage on a barrier in 1.5 sec, if combined with a precharged arrow.
But at least it’s not 475 damage.

Anything that makes barriers more durable is a step in the wrong direction.
Those people just want to see Hanzo as useless as Sombra so they won’t have to deal with him.
It’s more storm arrow gives a sniper, a class traditionally weak when someone gets in their face a very powerful self defense option.
I still prefer it over scatter arrow to be honest.
