A running tally of my win/loss in QP

I’ve started tracking my games as a solo player. I’m only playing QP. So far I’m up to 137 games, 90 losses and 47 wins. That’s crazy. The match making is insanely bad!! Every single loss has been a stomp. Completely annihilated. 3 of the wins have been evenly matched, the rest were stomps for our team.

Hate to break it to you… Match making isn’t the problem.

Good luck out there. (They’ve already said they’ve been studying stomps and it’s basically never the match maker doing it…)

I know I’m trash. I main mercy for goodness sake lol. I’ll be interested to read their study on stomps then because it kind of feels like their team is much better at the game than my team hence them having all the skills and my team running into walls and straight into bullets every single time. How is it not match making when I’m on a team with noobs (bots) and they are a team full of diamond/plat players.

Are you implying it’s the player that’s the problem? Because MM is supposed to rank you so you play equivalently skilled players. If you are losing you should play against easier players. At some point you should get to your correct MMR and even out somewhere close to 50/50. The player’s skill is irrelevant here.

So saying “get good” in your more subtle way just implies you don’t even understand how MM works.

I’m ending my night of playing. Current stats 140 games. 91 losses. 49 wins. Just got a nice win to end the night. Played as Mercy. 10 elims, 4 deaths and 11k healing. Im not THAT bad, and certainly never the ONLY reason for a loss.

Not implying. Explicitly stating, as per the Devs findings when they looked into “stomps”.

This does happen. When you lose, your MMR drops. When you win it goes up.

Yet, I’ve explained exactly how it works many times.

A “get good” tip for support… Die less. Sounds simple, but so many supports will just feed because of awful positioning. You need to make sure you can do what you need, keep line of sight and have an easy escape.

Well matchmaking is an issue and playing a very passive character does make it much harder.

A skill range in a single team from low gold to diamond is common.
But yes, the win/loss rate is crazy and should not be happening

Enable teams to be visible and than we’ll see why the stomps happen. There’s a reason why that information was removed from visibility.

That feature is odd that it was removed. But, all it will do is confirm a stomps are a player creation. Something they already know.

It was removed, because it is fundamentally meaningless as you’re matched stack for stack anyways. So if you’re in a trio, the enemy will also have a trio (unless queues get really long)

QP also isn’t designed to keep you at around a 50% win rate.

If you don’t want wild disparity you need to start playing ranked.

Win rate stats are kinda irrelevant in QP.

Like sure as a diamond player in QP it seems I basically never lose.

Like if we teamed up for QP I could easily have you back in the black so to speak but it’s not a mode that particularly cares about providing you a fair match more so it provides you a quick one.

Add in predictions! Make a prediction before every match based on the team assembly phase as to how the match will go and see how accurate your prediction will be!

Neither is comp

YOU keep yourself at around 50/50 naturally as you reach your limit….but even in comp the system has to allow for you to improve or fall back….otherwise everybody would be gold 1

The game itself is not trying to keep you at 50/50…it’s only ever trying to keep up with you….youre winning? Ok here’s better opponents….youre losing? Ok here’s (also) better opponents

Not in QP, and even when they do match them, they don’t match roles (in QP). As solo tank I’m often facing duo or trio tanks who come with a pocket support, or sometimes with 2 pocket supports. It makes a massive difference having a pocket as tank, especially an always-connected one like mercy or weaver.

I also regularly face a particular 4-stack in the evening (all same icon) with either a single duo or 2 duos and me as solo.

I haven’t seen any duo/trio matching evident in QP.

It’s a loser requirement in QP, but the matching still starts with that. If you get a game fast, you’ll be stack for stack.

The big thing is, their data shows stacks have a lower win rate than solos. So stacking isn’t some secret weapon advantage that people claim it is.

It only really helps in the highest ranks where people know how to coordinate, communicate and run comps.

In diamond and below… 99% of plans are “hit and hope” and people don’t realise that just because it worked, doesn’t mean it was the right thing to do. And most Comms are utter nonsense.

if qp took the approach of using your last logins mmr rating and accounted for 6 hours between your last known login, plus factoring in 12% degregation of your predicted performance. it should work better.

with every loss it should deduct 5% viability from the performance prediction

I’m at 186 wins and 100 losses. Maybe we should duo.

Anyways, saying everything is a stomp is quite subjective. I’ve seen plenty enough replays that people said were stomps and did not look stomps to me.
It was more like they just got tilted early on, or whatever.

13 looses in row now (spawn locked)
First win in 5 hours with me 30:1 8 k dmg and 5,3 k healing
First loss again…lead 4 0, lost 4 5
Second loss …

Sometimes game is just hard. Ended one of matches with 0-3 KD myself.
