A Little Positivity ♥

The forums can be a pretty negative place. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but let’s have a little positivity, too.

Tell me about something good that happened to you recently.

  • A game that went well
  • A play you’re proud of (bonus pretend points if you include a video)
  • Something nice someone said to you
  • Something nice you did for someone

Anything, really. Tell us what made you smile today. Or yesterday. Or a week ago.

For example,
I got called an ‘annoying Mercy’ earlier today, because a Genji/Winston duo couldn’t kill me. Technically the kudos go to my team, because they protected me really well, and I had lots of space to get away each time they jumped me. Buuut it’s always nice to be told you’re hard to kill, especially as a support.

Healed a game

Person said I did really good and added me to their friends list

I rejected them because who tf adds people on OW. What a weirdo

Woo positivity!

I just came back to the game not long ago and I’ve been trying some new heroes like Brig. I was in a comp game where my team worked really well together and we won and for some reason my team mate thought I was a smurf when I’ve barely played Brig and I thought I must have been doing pretty good!

I bet you did great! It’s always wonderful to find good players in game, especially someone that’s willing to tank or heal.

Yeah I feel bad because I always decline friend requests when people add me after I do good in a game.

They are probably cool people but I get worried that they will want to group with me and I will have a bad game and they will abandon me because they only adding me cause I did good in the first place.

Welcome back to OW! How do you like Brigitte? You must’ve been doing really well if they called you a smurf, haha.
I’m a bit of a chicken, so playing any up-close characters stresses me out (ranged/support is more my cup of tea, lol). But a good Brig is always an asset!

Someone on my team randomly messaged me on PSN after playing a match saying how nasty my Winston was - I was really popping off that game.

As usual played all tank or healing. Won some games. Lost some games. Can’t really ever say any game has been a complete blow out for a long time. There is usually a few good minutes of stall from either side.

I only add people if we’ve played a few games together; that way if some go well and some don’t, you can kind of get a feel for if they’re the toxic/grumpy type when things go south. Idk.

LFG has made it a lot easier to find friendly people though, which is nice.

Came back after a break due to my PC dying, and I was doing really bad. :frowning: You know, months being out of practice, plus I never was great to begin with. I just couldn’t play DPS to save my life.

Finally gave in and just started picking Mercy since my aim is actual garbage atm. And … did pretty well on her.

One game in particular I had some amazing plays, but no one ever said anything in team or voice chat, so I was feeling neutral about the game once it ended.

But then my team gave me all 5 votes and that made me feel nice. :3

I should really give in to fate and just be a damn support main, but … but blinking. ;_; Why can’t Tracer just have a healing gun?!? XD

Did somebody say… peanut butter?
I love Winston, his voice lines are the cutest. Have you always played on console? How do you like it? I tried Mercy on console a few times; it was definitely interesting, but goodness gracious I am not good with controllers, haha.

Yeah, it seems like games lately have been really fun; lots of hard fights, lengthy stalls, and really good playing from both sides. Those are the best, honestly. I don’t mind losing when things are that evenly matched - especially when both sides are friendly after the match is over. It makes a loss much less frustrating when each side can appreciate how hard the other fought.

Thanks man! She is fun as hell! I have always pretty much played dps but she seemed to be a support that is more my style. I am not very good with her yet but I love her kit. It feels really good to shield bash a reaper ult

Aww, you should feel good about that! It’s nice being appreciated!

It’s okay to not be the world’s greatest player, so long as you’re having fun and doing your best. Tracer does seem like a lot of fun; I’m sure you’d pick her back up pretty quickly with a bit of practice!

Sorry to hear about your PC dying; if you ever need anyone to play with (and yes, that includes dps so you can get back into practice), you can add me. I main Mercy, and I’ll do my best to keep you alive so you can wreck some faces!

Or, if you’d like to practice Mercy more, I can play Zen/Ana/Moira a bit too, and I’ll watch your back.

No pressure, if you’d rather not add some random person, of course. Just putting it out there in case you’d like some company!

Having a better understanding of the game can help to curb any emotional issues. If you yourself are able to play multiple roles well enough, you can usually be a valuable member to any team to help it function well enough to keep it a strong fight.

Plus, when you realize, “Oh, our healer died, and we have 3 with 5 against us” it really should be a losing fight. When you can see it like that you can just jump to the next motion of die as quickly as possible or get out sooner rather than later. Do damage on the way down or save ultimate.

Regroup try again. Play for the long game where you have multiple chances rather than have to win every engagement. All you need is usually 1 good one to take a point.

Makes it real easy to stay in a neutral or better mood.

Winston is a party animal!

& to answer your question, yup. Always have. Aim assist can honestly be a blessing and a curse.

Ah, but that’s a good thing. Nothing bad happened.

I have to admit, I don’t really understand how aim assist works.

But it’s really neat that you’re a Winston main, I love that! I haven’t met many that main him, but he’s such a beast (no pun intended lol) in the right hands.

Hey there,
These kinda posts always make me smile

Such a breeze of fresh air instead of always fighting over who should be buffed or nerfed, why widow is annoying and how op Spamzo and Hackbra is :stuck_out_tongue:

Yesterday Activision Blizzard announced Call Of Duty Modern Warfare (Reboot), I am such a COD lover that I was instantly pumped for it but it gets even better… because it will be the first COD game to feature Cross Play!
It’s great for people like me who prefer playing on consoles instead, and moreover is great news for Blizzard in general as now it seems they are considering cross play for future projects. Maybe soon they’ll make a deal with Sony and Microsoft and finally bring Cross Play to Overwatch as well. That would be the day

One more thing happened yesterday, I was getting bullied by a 5 stack for picking McCree when the match started. I didn’t reply to them as we already had a Lucio, Zen, Zarya, Winston and a Hanzo. It was a pretty standard 2/2/2 comp but they seemed to be unhappy with the McCree pick. So we started playing and I started getting picks early on. They said on voice chat “Dame McCree la eta not noob” sounded like a Singapore like accent to me. By the end of the round I ended up with 27 gold elms and 53% accuracy. At that time they went quiet, I bet the Hanzo didn’t even get 5 kills to be honest. At the mid fight period of round 2 I managed to get a 5 man kill as McCree and they didn’t say anything. The enemy team typed “LOL!” followed by “Dammit McCree flanking all the time!” and “Wow…”. I play McCree in a very unique manner and if you ever see my gameplay you’ll know I ain’t no ordinary Cowboy.
So after the end of the match I got my POTG and a card with around 39 eliminations and they didn’t even bother to write gg wp and just straight up left.
I think actions speak louder than words and I think I taught these toxic bullies some humility through my own gameplay.
(They didn’t even bother endorsing either.)
