Just updated windows 10, and the update bricked my windows install.
So if windows is bugging you about updating make sure you create a backup of your files first, since I just lost mine.
No overwatch for me today I suppose

Happened to me once. And Microsoft wonders why people hate the updates lol
It’s not that hard to figure out ^^
Sad part is you don’t even get a choice in the matter anymore.
It happened to my pc and my laptop. it really mess me up with my meeting when i found out my laptop wifi no longer worked. I had to use my phone and limited data to download the new wifi driver for my laptop.
On my PC, it broke the registration for some software and drivers. I had to reinstall my graphic card drivers and other softwares >_<
We could start a support group lmao ^^
I actually found a way to disable them. Requires some manipulation of the file structure but now it cannot update unless I manually do it.
Nobody with a brain likes Win10 anyway.
I’m still on Windows 8, 7, XP, and other OS’s.
It’s not about liking though when they just stop supporting the older operating systems.
Like I said, little to no choice in the matter
Mr tickles, do you perhaps have a link to a guide for that?
You don’t need their support.
Don’t be apathetic.
No, but you are incredibly vulnerable since security issues won’t get patched anymore.
Sure you could be that guy still running xp, but don’t expect to have any form of protection ^^
Boot of a Windows USB and you can usually repair it or at the least roll back the update. Windows saves a copy of your old install for major updates like that. For less major updates you can use system restore tool, it works wonders. I work in IT and am in charge of updating thousands of systems and these sort of things are actually really uncommon. Windows 10 is a great OS once it’s configured correctly.
You are only vulnerable if you let yourself be.
You should learn how to secure things yourself. Don’t rely on others for this, that’s next level stupid.
Startup repair couldnt repair your pc
^^
@osho
If you think that is how it works sure. but it’s not everyones cup of tea so there is no point in calling me pathetic, is there?
Agree. I just found out that Windows 10 disable System Restore Point by default >_>
It’s probably due to portable devices, but for a desktop, it’s a great feature to have when installing anything new.
I said apathetic. Not pathetic.
Without knowing the exact issues it’s hard to give specific advise, but yeah start up repair rarely works. Use either system restore or roll back to a previous version of Windows. For general updates, like just security patches and stuff system restore is the way to go.
If none of that works, are you able to get into safe mode?
I went through the steps with microsoft support & short story shorter:
Gf files, just reinstall ^^
It let me boot and as soon as I am logged in auto restarts, not even blue screen, just restart ^^
However I’m not here for support, just felt like warning others to be more careful than I was hehe
What exactly happens when you try to boot? Bsod?
If you guys don’t know, Windows 10 disable BSOD and makes your system auto-restart. You have to configure it to give BSOD so that you can diagnose it. Again, probably due to the influence for wanting it to run on mobile devices.
Really? That’s news to me.
will have to look into that!
