She’s boring now, and was boring before, now she’s just a greater magnitude of boring. Though, there is a clear way to resolve this issue and more:
60 h/s the first three seconds of healing someone before dropping to 50 h/s. If connection is broken then it needs to be broken for three seconds from the same person to start back up to 60 h/s. Healing would automatically start at 60 h/s if switching to a new target . This change would encourage Mercy players to rapidly heal the team similar to how Zenyatta, Ana and Moira heal- instead of just pocketing a single person. This would in turn reward team play

Interesting take, my only gripe has ever been the 1.75 s cast on rezz during Valk. Otherwise I feel she’s in a good spot and has been for a while. I am really happy other Supports get their time in the sun now.
Ugh no to hitscan pistol. I love her gun/projectiles.
What she needs is more damage when she uses her pistol. Maybe more damage if she has recently healed someone if people are like “omg, mercy must be my LMB bot”
Except zen has waaaay better dps, can switch healing targets on the fly, and mercy is the only healer who has to switch weapons. And when she does it’s obvious she isn’t healing so people report her for throwing.
With this idea she still has to swap to gun, but can’t change healing targets or switch to damage boost/healing.
Out of every healer, mercy has 1) no reason to use the gun and 2) using the gun gets in the way of her job so the better mercys become, the less they use it.
Me too, I think would be really neat to have more counter play to snipers and stuff. Right now really only Ana can do that effectively. It would be interesting if Mercy could as well.
I can actually get behind these changes, save for the hitscan pistol (which is a joke, obviously).
It means Mercy players are rewarded for spreading the love, and discourages endlessly pocketing a single hero all match.
I personally take it an extra step with Valkyrie and increase the HPS to 70. A major issue is how unimpactful it feels, and making the healing difference between her base and ultimate states might go some way towards mitigating that feeling.
There is no way that one can seriously assert that 10hp/second in increased healing makes something “less boring”.
If she is “boring” now, she was as “boring” before. Her role hasnt changed, nor has the manner of delivery.
I mean, it is one thing to claim that the healing nerf was too much, but at least make that a reasonable argument, not that she is somehow more “boring” without concrete examples how a 10hp/sec heal nerf induces boredom.
I don’t think Mercy will ever not be boring to play for most people. Judging from what Jeff has said about getting inspiration from TF2, Mercy was supposed to be the Medic’s counterpart but completely failed in any way to get what made Medic so fun to play.
