I always wanted to play something like this in arcade. I just wonder how it would play out. Who do you think the best heroes would be for this mode? A mode with no tanks or supports.
Tracer is always just a given, Widow depending on the map, Cree, Sombra. Just low TTK and utility heroes.
Soldier would be handy
Iâd play Tracer and Mei, most likely. Theyâre my go-to in QP so why not in FFA.
Also have wished for a dps only FFA since back in OW1. Nothing worse than jumping in that mode and itâs just Roadhog everywhere. So pointless.

You could test it out by making a custom mode with just DPS heroes, see how it goes?
Any character with self heal like Mei or Solider will be good. Followed by hyper mobility characters with good escape mechanics.
I feel like S76/Sombra would be the âsupportâ picks. S76 is the only character that might try to refresh a team between fights or Sombra. The heals are just way too important to ignore to keep momentum on a team. Many fights I think would take place around health packs as Sombra gives teams 250 restores or 75hp.
Tracer nomination for one of the only divey units to try to use and Sombra as well can help out with the counter flanking. The other âdiveyâ DPS I donât think could survive such as short range Reaper, Hanzo, Widowmaker,
Meiâs wall would honestly be rather powerful for acting like a tank to get teams through choke points unless you go full dive which loses out some team sustain with S76. Torbjorn would be a rather common anti-flank strategy to chip people down.
There are so many variations on this working out either heavy poke or high dive. The chunky and inaccurate units I feel donât hvae much of a place such as Junkrat, Reaper, Pharah, and Echo.
Sombra I feel is 24/7 a must pick. It could very quickly become a âpickâ meta to try to outpick the enemy team first to avoid getting chipped to death over time.

It could be done in a way like one of the challenges in the Storm Rising archive where you get a bit of health doing damage. Heals from Soldier, Mei and Sombra would be very low. That mode was DPS only too.
Depends what gamemode you want. It would be very different on a FFA mode just going for kills or one of the other modes with objectives.

If itâs like objective based then probably Soldier/Reaper/Tracer/McCree and one flex pick. Soldier for team healing and consistent damage, Reaper for self sustain and brawling on point, Tracer is busted, and McCree for consistent burst. Then the last hero depends on whatever the enemy strat is and what side youâre on. Could go Mei for even more self sustain, Junkrat to punish Soldier group healing, Widow for a quick pick out of spawn, etc.

Tank and Support picks arenât rare or even uncommon there if thatâs what youâre suggesting
But the whole mode is dps oriented.
Arcade should get an entire overhaul and have a variety of wacky gamemodes and a system that rewards you for playing Arcade similar to the OG lootboxes.
Maybe free battlepass tier skips every few wins or even fun arcade styled namecards and titles that type of stuff
