šŸ‘Æ A Decoy ability needs to exist now

They could try something like yings illusions too. Her whole kit is built around them; they serve as her healing method, soak up damage, and are also her mobility. You probably wouldn’t wanna put all of that into one hero, but a support could definitely have a healing decoy.

This concept does exist in another Blizzard game. HoTS’s Nova has this ability, as a sniper no less lmao

i would love a stealth support like that. what game’s it from? wait nm i found it

Paladins. Paladins has a lot of really cool hero designs.

DAAAAMn that’s like my ideal hero to play.
overwatch should steal ideas more often.

Paladins has some great characters but they Also have some pretty bad ones.

They have one who’s ult is basically reapers ult but he moves faster in it and is invincible so you can’t stun or kill him in it.

They also have a character with an aoe attack where you hold both mouse buttons and w and just kill everything in front of you lol.

But one thing palace destroys overwatch in is supports. The supports in paladins all feel amazing, have unique supportive knits built on more than just healing, and yeah. I love their supports.

But, we’re not? Not pervasively or deeply, anyways.

I’d love to see a Decoy ability, but the context and auxiliary suggestions you give here both seem… off.

I think you’ll find that’s a theme with OP.

That sounds pretty cool.

Tho I don’t understand the point if they don’t have silent footsteps. Imagine trying to flank and leaving your decoy behind but being found out because the enemy hears stomp STOMP STOMP STOMP

See, here I almost thought you were understanding some underlying issue, but then you ignore the increase in sustained damage that comes from dealing the same DPS across a longer interval so long as you don’t extend the reload time proportionately.

That said, Soldier really doesn’t need any buffs, and I’m not willing to give up Sprint, which already performs what you’re asking for, but typically better, nor Biotic Field, which also largely does what you’re asking for, but often better.

This would be just a new Utility ability.

No need to take anything away.

not even a teensy tightening of his loose bloom?

Would a small nerf fail to overpower Soldier? Yes.

I’m just pointing out he doesn’t need one, let alone something as drastic as a rehaul or an additional ability.

A faint slow on his accuracy bloom curve would be one of my favorite choices for a buff, if he were given one regardless. Though, I’d also be fine with just a faint bit more Sprint speed, a bit more total Biotic Field duration, or an even faster animation cancel on his reload. He seems solid to me, so there’s not much room there.

true. a lot of his problems stem from being outclassed by ashe and mccree by a LOT

Heroes putting out high volumes of fire are the least affected by hitting the wrong thing.

I don’t think we are seeing the same use here
