A day so bad, I considered OW to destress

I hate first day of schools. Everything and everyone is new, now you need to make new contacts again, put on that fake smile for good first impressions, oh and of course there is always that confusion when you don’t know where you actually need to go. You get slammed with all the new information like:
Hey, did you know Maths exams are coming in just a month?! OMG I LOVE MATH IT’S MY FAV-- NOBODY. CARES. DUDE.
Hi, I’m x years old, and I’m hobbyless.
Read this letter, also this one, all three of those, as well as that one invitation to [literally just slow down???]… Oh, have you guys seen this letter yet?
This is the final game. Do NOT screw this up.

Great, now I came back home with a headache and I actually was done enough for the day to take a nap. And there’s of course tomorrow. It actually got so worse that, on my way home, I thought playing OW would be the perfect game to de-stress. Just log in, go Sombra, fry some casuals.
Overwatch. A literal fallen angel among games.
I don’t know what to do. All other games right now just lost that boom to me because tomorrow won’t be that good either, and what else could I do except languish and dread at ome then? Should I come crawling back like an ex?

Anyways, I’m SO glad this day is over. GG, I’m waiting out the weekend already. How was your day going? Could you do something to lighten up the mood? Even if you set it on fire, I won’t even care.

Day’s been long. Thinking about playing OW or FN with my mates to relax, or if they’re offline Persona 5 Strikers.

The thought of using OW to destress after a stressful day literally gives me anxiety

I would absolutely have to play something else

Oh, and if that wasn’t clear already, the aspect I miss the most about OW is not shooting down people as hitscan, sustaining people as support or leading the wave as a brawl tank.
No. It’s got to be playing Sombra. And it’s not even watching over my supports to camp out the other Sombra, no, I just wanna be one more of those annoying backline rats.

the whole week has been long, idk what it is exactly. I’ve been having fun playing comp lately, comp it feels weird.

Persona 5 Strikers is a cool game

i feel you… the only time OW agitates me is when I have a thrower on my team or if i have a moron teammate who would 1v5 and would not listen to reason.

I’d just play Red Dead Redemption 2 and talk in a cartoony western accent as I rampage over the wild west.

The amount of times I say “what n tarnation” would be at an all time high.

Treat school like Ow 2.

Be yourself and understand it’s something that’s going to be in a short part of your life as something better comes along for you to apply yourself.

Just go have fun out there, because like Overwatch, nobody in the real world is going to care about what you did or didn’t do in school.

Update: Downloading 50 GB as we speak. Should be ready by tomorrow.
Or this night, if I’m being honest. But knowing my luck, it will be ready at 2. a.m.

Bad day: deserved

Sorry not sorry

Back in MY DAY, I wish OW existed. But as a kid I still had dial-up.

First school days were okay, because I had fresh stationary I never used. But hey, who doesn’t like a new eraser?

Oh man we got a serious case of the angsty teenager lol, just wait till you’re an adult bro. You get even less time, less energy, bills, a job, kids, parent obligations, time for friends. Enjoy your time, enjoy your youth, enjoy even having time to play a game. It only gets worse :rofl::rofl:

Tbf, there was an article I read not too long ago that school has become more demanding. Kids are getting burnouts, too. So it’s really not any different to having a full-time job, only you don’t get paid to go to school.

In my experience, evreything after covid became more… “emotion-less”? People became less outspoken, or even more introverted, and many people seem to be more on-edge than usual. Even the teachers actually have gotten far more casual, which would be great, but now school generally isn’t taken seriously anymore.
Vandalism, and other kinds of generally aggressive behaviour.
It’s as if somebody turned up the difficulty of a game and now all NPCs around you are more hostile towards you. And that quote “This is the final game. Do NOT screw this up.” - is a prime example. And I believe we all know from whom that one came from.
School also has gotten way too inconsistent. Sometimes you have all the free time in the world, sometimes you’re submerged in homework. Especially the younger teachers try to be creative and give us even more tedious tasks like ‘I want a video on French grammar next week’. What they don’t know is how much time it just takes sometimes, especially when it’s a group project nobody wants to lead.

i played a lot of overwatch in college back when i was still going to school and honestly others seeing me play the game was funny

a lot of people would come over to ask me for my mains, about new heroes (like venture), my rank, or if i could duo with them. people were genuinely curious to find other OW players and i underestimated how popular it is among my age range

my saving grace was ordering a valve index VR device before covid and it shipped soon after it happened

The thing about OW is that you can’t treat it like a competitive game. Don’t even treat Comp competitively. It’s a freaking party game to have fun with your mates in. This is the gospel ThiccBuddha has preached, and it is one I fully agree on. Some losses may be frustrating, sometimes you do really want to win, but it’s more fun to mess around as you play the game, do funny things, and have fun. And that’s why stacking is the best thing ever. Who cares if I’m a console player in a PC pool when I’m with my buddies? Who cares if the win rate is like 20%? We’re bros playing Mario party with guns

yeah definitely. I go into the game with that mindset. some of my friends treat QP pretty sweaty, will wanna make the proper swaps to win the game but I don’t really focus all that much on winning in QP, as long as it’s not a complete steamroll. I think that’s what’s been making the comp matches more fun lately. knock on wood, but none of them have been like that. maybe it’s cause I’ve been playing outside of my comfort zone lately. Mario Party with guns, I like that comparison.

Honestly would do anything to do this again. Can’t go to school or make new friends because my family wants to move, but they are taking forever, so my life is just in limbo. Hence, I’ve taken up overwatch.

When that happens, if I like what the project is about, I just take over the operation.

Same, I think covid altered people’s brain chemistry, or maybe I just got older.

Fatherless behaviour.

Play some vs AI, all the fun of playing your main and doing the objective without the sweaty players to play against.
