Hello Blizzard, it’s me, the girl who’s been playing blizzard games since the year 2000 when I was 16 and drove to the mall to get my CD copy of Diablo II (a thing I still posses in perfect condition and cherish amongst my possessions).
I know you are going through something right now. There’s so many people who are moving on because they need to see other games, and I know you feel like you have to keep changing the way you view yourself because of a false narrative that you need to be fresh and I know the loudmouths who have never appreciated you for what you are are always in your ear telling you this is too long, and this is too boring, but constantly changing your format won’t make them love you, Blizzard. We loved you just the way you were. A full, 7-rounds of competitive Stadium. We knew the people who literally never played stadium comp would enjoy quick play and we reveled in it’s addition. It was perfect. What a play adding that in. But now you’ve gotten greedy with the attention stadium QP got and you think to yourself, “Hey! I can be that popular, too” but you changed who you are fundamentally and in doing so you pushed all of us who were already playing Stadium comp away! What is the purpose of stadium qp if you just make comp the exact same, but with worse point distribution? Please! You have to be your 7-round self again! We love you and we want you to stay!
The most rewarding games I ever played were full 7 rounds of stadium comp. Getting to know my team. Slowly building up to be the perfect hero. Matches that went on for ever because of how well perfected each team was. It was truly COMPETITIVE and you had time to prove your worth. 5 rounds is TOO FAST to be competitive. Too fast to learn your team. Too fast to breath and it is a NEEDLESS change. QP is fast and it can stay fast. That’s why it’s QUICK PLAY. Competitive isn’t about speed, and it never was! PLEASE! Revert Stadium comp back to 7 rounds!
Stadium comp is what I played 99% of the time playing overwatch. I could spend hours doing it. I want the special skins to reflect my time spent. I could comb over skills and find the niche that counters x,y,z. It was everything to me. I didn’t mind waiting 10m in queue for a support role. That’s what comes with being the best of the best, and I want the game to find me suitable partners. That’s why While You Wait games exist. When I don’t have that sort of time, I am free to queue for QP.
You have slapped us Stadium Comp players in the FACE, Blizzard. We kindly ask, no- BEG you to please give us back our 7 rounds. Without it I fear I, and so many of my constituents, will lose heart, and lose interest, and we will be forced to find other sources of dopamine as the ADHD gods demand. We are counting on you, Blizzard. There’s a reason why Marvel Rivals is failing, and it is because they do not listen to the community and they make arbitrary and needless mistakes that are never corrected. Don’t make those same mistakes!! There’s a reason so many of us are still here!
