I miss the old days when I could protect my team with honor, but now I am reduced to nothing but a giant punching bag. My team needs me, but alas I cannot help when I am being knocked every direction and getting spammed on. My shield is outdated and antiquated, gone in a second, due to incremental buffs as I am left behind in the sands of time. I call upon you, the reader to defend your defenders, so that we may return the favor someday…:shield::hammer::broken_heart:

Yeah these are sad days to be a Reinhardt main. Especially when the devs are completely radio silent about this obviously glaring issue.

i recall hearing Jeff mention one other hero was being worked on but they havent announced who it was yet, one can only hope that its our favorite crusader

While I hope it is Rein, I get the feeling it is Bastion (AKA another hero that counters Reinhardt).

unfortunately i fear thats the case as well, his pick rate and winrate are lower so i guess its only fair but still…

I can see one of two things happening in the future…

1: Blizzard alters the game (by either changing a few characters or adding new heroes) in order to change how shields played in Overwatch since their are just SO MANY DPS heroes that just ANNIHILATE shields, or

2: Give shields a rework to help receive damage without breaking in 2 seconds. I love playing Support heroes and Tanks but I’ve noticed when playing tanks like Rien or Orissa how the enemy just ignores my shield (unless i’m bunkering) and just walks all over me.

It’s sad but with the way that Overwatch is heading, shields are going to get walked all over.

I very much want Charge to get a reduced telegraph and a more reliable pin. He should always grab the first target he hits and only boop if he’s already holding someone.

i would prefer option 2, i think shields need to actually act semi-solid in a way

I have the hope that the devs are going to fix Rein, just that they have chosen to prioritize the others first.

i really think the issue with rien right now is in his shield and his inability to cope with cc and dive. fix that and he would be fine in my opinion
