Hero Loadouts! It isn’t mentioned in the patch notes for some reason but we have options for 2 loadouts for each hero, and can favorite cosmetics with a little star next to each one. I wonder what the star means. I just thought it was cool that Blizzard added this to the game, and if anyone knows what the stars do (if they do the same as in Val where you can choose random from your favorites and get a random skin/highlight intro).

That was the plan, a “Random From Favorites” selection, and it was showed off yesterday/day before, but as of today it’s either totally missing or broken/locked depending on who you ask. So that’s cool. You can select your favorites. But that’s it.
It’s there for the Highlight Intros and Victory Poses menus though!!
You know, the really important ones so many people have been asking to be implemented for years

and my warning about the Blizzard servers thing is already happening too.

I fully agree with you it is entitlement.
Players that go into matches where it isn’t ranked and complaining people dont want to play with them when they are smurffing, cheating and hacking is a fair assumption of the general playerbase that casually plays this game.
Competitive players were graciously built a mode that has leaver penalties in it for competitive levels of gameplay and that people that want to play a match that doesn’t have leavers authorized to do said actions, was an available mode for sure!
it is very entitled to expect someone to put up with abuse at the behest of one-self for the sake of trying out new forms of cheatware, and their new account in a mode that otherwise offers zero player rating and rewards.
The only ones here that wanted this so bad, are the ones that don’t want to remain in Ranked mode and have used a mode that otherwise says something about “practicing” , i’d think practicing means switching out and off the field to allow others in. Its like a pick-up game of hockey in the neighborhood and suddenly people want it to be a pro game.

I just dont get why people waste their time in a mode that wasn’t originally built for them. enlighten me please?
No need to be courteous to selfish and entitled leavers either. Haven’t personally attacked you. Just called out your behavior for what it is.
Quickplay was built for everyone. Period.
What it was not designed for is for people to shop for an ideal match. That is why they have always had a leaver penalty. They have just finally realized that a xp penalty is not enough.
Habitually leavers have been a problem because they selfishly leave matches to “save time” at the cost of at least 9 other people’s time. If not more if it is backfilled once or more.
The impact of one leaver has a magnified effect beyond just them. They know what they are signing up for yet they keep signing up for it expecting it to be different and when those expectations (which were unreasonable in the first place) are not meant they leave.
If you don’t like what quickplay is offering you over a quarter of the time and you are AWARE of it and continue to sign up then you are willfully ruining the experience of at least a quarter of your matches just by queueing.
Final response as this thread isn’t suppose to be about this.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.
I noticed this and was really confused as skins are the only cosmetic I’d want randomly selected from my list of favourites, so that was kind of a downer. Also I couldn’t figure out how the 3 loadouts even work, so I assume those aren’t quite functioning as they should be either. And of course I can’t seem to find any dev info about non-functioning features, because why tell us stuff.

the typical observation to leavers in the matches are the instigators. I’ve played the game since 2017. not a big deal. it is what it is.
Evaluating the circumstances around when people leave matches is fairly obvious. Those that instigate problems in matches love this penalty. They want to be obnoxious and now they think they have won. because people like to play overwatch and people now have to put up with their behavior.
I could come up with a few real-world examples of obnoxious people and the obnoxious things that people do and rightly so. Its like the apartment complex paradox. One has to live in there and typically 8 times out of 10 a person will encounter the " neighbor next door with the 10,000 Watt stereo system they installed in their apartment. with 80% of their budget going to just the subwoofer and the amplifer."
They know they have the capabilities of being obnoxious and loud to prove their self-worth, and they do it because thats how they think. There is no re-shapping their mental health crisis until they acknowledge they have a problem and seek mental health counseling…
So what happens in the real world is, typically people call the cops, they receive tickets, and that doesn’t do anything, eventually the land lord just tells the people to move out around them. Since they are the ones that do not like the loud music.
same thing applies here. only people press “leave”.
If someone cant see this as a problem and that people should put up with their obnoxious behavior. thats on them for creating a lonely world around themselves.
and in some cases. eventually the Po’D neighbor that has to put up with it every day that cant afford to pay the additional deposit to leave early, ends up breaking down their door and beating the brakes off of them… so yeah. … not the ideal outcome and not a good one but yeah..
Need I say more. I see the writing on the wall. obvious. as to why specific people are rejoicing the leaver penalty.
Oh please. I’ve never been toxic or obnoxious a game in my life, I play the game to the best of my ability every day, I don’t cheat, I don’t throw, I don’t afk, I don’t chat and I certainly don’t leave just because the enemy is better than me.
It sounds more like you just want to throw out the victim card while you take any little difficulty as a reason to quit matches. Complaining about cheaters and hackers and smurfs in every match, meanwhile I play the game way more than you or most people around here and have rarely seen those things happen. You’re simply a weak willed, easily triggered immature person who gets upset as soon as the match isn’t going perfectly in your favour. Because apparently you, and people like you, seem to think you’re entitled to easy victories with little effort or challenge every match you queue for. Reality check, you’re just a random person like everyone else and you are not special, you take the good with the bad, you can’t just always have the good.

i’ve never attacked you once here on this thread, so no clue why so hostile? Im willing to have an engaging conversation with anyone as long as we all maintain peaceful accords here.
The thing is I dont strawman or attack a strawman with emotional conjecture as it never goes to the point or fortifies an opinion.
I think there is plenty of content on youtube that solidifies why people leave these matches and plenty of memes on reddit and a few other threads that the amount of content one can generate from Overwatch footage alone is plenty of proof there as to why people dip out of a match.
Cheaters exist, it isn’t too difficult to learn what to observe for and what to look for in cheats. Of course I manage another game server for a different title and start to look at what people are doing to cheat. Overwatch contains roughly 26% of all matches with some form of soft cheating, along with additional 15% that “hard cheat”. This is based upon observation playing overwatch.
Im not a great player, I mean I placed in the 250s range on Sojourn gameplay for hero mastery. so i guess… not really am I good at this game either…
My love for the game is that I love blizzard products and can say it is one of the greatest released titles of all time. I’d rather be here.
But yeah obnoxious players exist, some people it may irritate them and they can put up with it, while others cannot. Its just the temperament in people and how much they are willing to put up with.
Not everyone is calm as you are in this game, and thats a good thing you can celebrate about yourself! Positive, right? 
But like many of us, this game is very stressful and does not provide a relaxed environment which is a group of players look for in gaming. If I wanted stress, I’d go play insanely difficult games like Dark souls.
I also have concerns about this, as someone in the next few of counties over got swatted by a gamer that was in a fit of rage and the 5-0 ended up filling that person with hot lead . So i highly doubt we want these problems spilling into overwatch here either. Community safety is important.
Anyway, yeah.
Loadouts for…what?
I can’t make it billy bob, stick Genji in it with a random gun + sword skin now can I?
Maybe with emotes/voice lines but still…not a traditional “loadout”.
That’s cool about the favoriting things though.
