we don’t know the exact details of how lootboxes will work in ow2 yet 
, but let’s try to remember for a moment how they worked and above all WHY they worked: Overwatch 1, for better or worse, almost always gave skins for all heroes, no one was overly pampered for 3, 4, 10 events in a row. This created in a certain sense a balance on the probability of finding something that belonged to your favorite hero, and above all there was a concrete acceptance of the classification of skins between legendary and epic skins.
now, several problems that I can’t help but think about, especially from the point of view of the probability of dropping:
Kiriko and Mercy have literally had skins in almost every single season, reaching absurd records of at least one skin for 6 seasons in a row (kiriko even from season 3, always at least one skin and continue to have them in S15-16). It means that if you are unfortunately a fan of any other hero that are not these two… there is a SCARY percentage of chances of having their skins, and a very low percentage of chance that you will get skins of heroes like zarya, baptiste, wrecking ball, etc.
since season 10-11, overwatch has intensified in an exaggerated way the concept of the recolor skins, where the rarity is at full price and maybe they were even skins of the ow1 generation. this also happened in ow1 with the standard skins and in very rare exceptional cases the event skins that were recolors (anniversary remix, summer games 2016). but today? many, many, many random recolors everywhere at legendary quality.
The worst of the probabilities, the skins that we have always criticized: the FAKE legendary skins (epic skins in reality) like moira mime, bastion gingerbread, kiriko hashimoto etc. and remember that ow1 after meirry skin never dared to propose those skins again despite having a unique graphic effect. these skins… don’t even have that specialty.
do you understand what I mean? Overwatch 2 has really badly cultivated the variety and classification of skins. how could we say that we can enjoy that minimum of the old lootboxing experience if maybe we have this type of statistics in our sights and maybe we are not even main kiriko / mercy?
