I dont think I have ever seen this (well I saw it once but that was during patch day that one time and patch day is known to have bugs on comp ranks)
Decided to play comp today wanted to get back to 2700 (was at 2673)
and i queue legit pressed ready and it got me in
was like wow usually I wait a minute ok
then I see
Lethal— Plat
Xplayer— gold
yplayer1—diamond
y player2—plat
z player1— plat
z player 2— diamond
X==>tank y==>dps z==> support
the dps diamond player was 2980
ok normal
the support diamond hit 3550 this season adn was 3490
the gold player was 1970…
the gold player legit said in chat he wasnt queued with any1 and the diamond players said same.
the plat players were of same sr as me
the enemy was of same sr as me as well
we of course lost and I stopped I was like this is bad mojo
but just wow.
I have never seen that before.
I have seen someone 500 sr above a rank be in a rank lower and thats generally tank
but I never seen matchmaker mess up this bad before.
I am worried of queing again that this will happen again.
That happens to me ALL the time when I queue for tank. I am basically a gold tank and it puts me in diamond lobbies hella consistently.
This season I have been generally dancing around gold and I have had matches where I am the only gold there with all others plat or Diamond.
I also had one game with everyone gold or plat but the other tank on my team was a 1200sr bronze.
Its clear to me the Matchmaker has been tweaked with after role queue to help dps queue times by increasing the matchmaker range in tank queue.
Its important to mention this and ask if/what has changed with the matchmaker as it should be noted tank and healer players are having issues with 2-2-2, it’s not just DPS with their long queues.

Happened to me 5 times in the last 3 days as a mid plat to have a silver in my games. Tried my very best but lost all of them. What’s happening? Looks like the game is dying or is this a bug? I have 3m queue times and would happily wait longer for a realistic match.
I think that tank player just stop playing comp so that they have to compensate it with this kind of MM. I can’t blame the tank players after all what they did to the category even tho the barrier changes where good.
There are just not enough tank players. I would not say the game is dying, per se… It kind of is. But this issue has more to do with the insanely small amount of tanks queuing. Hence why we need 321. We only need half the tanks.
not enough players, so you get unbalanced matches all the time, i can only imagine how low playerbase is now, we desperately need content
I think the issue is not the playerbase its comp only…
I mean… It happens in QP too, but there is not an easy way to discern the discrepancy. It is absolutely there though.
are you rated as a gold tank player?
or are you rated diamond but you feel like you are gold?

Literally gold. It is only about 2 games off from plat and the diamond games are low diamond games. But still.

or the one before that (time difference of 14 hours but like the population has decreased in that muhc ya know what I mean?)

I have not had it happen to me before except once.
I was 2600 and I was the outlier.
the whole game had 2100 people
(lets just say it was fun playing hog then hehe)
never seen it where I basically got masters player and a silver player basically in the same team. I dont want that happen because I just want this account to be finally higher than my alt ._.
This is what happens when tanks get nerfed with little compensation.

And that is without grouping. I was on… A different account, one where the tank rating is nearly diamond. My friends playing with me were nearly silver. The lobbies it put us into…
Not that it mattered to much because obviously I suck at tank. But as you said, Hog. Heh heh heh…
Like I said in the thread it happened in patch day (thats where comp bugs and a bronze could play witha t500 dont ask me why it always has been like this with the old and new system) but it doesnt happen to me daily.
Maybe its because the usual times I play at?
(I play once a week for 6 hours straight sometimes I sneak some time in during the week like today)
Actually, you might be correct. A lot of my playtime is past midnight. So… Jank matchmaking is almost a given.
