This is unreal, what is “competitive integrity” if you have majority of your playerbase above the posted Top 500 leaderboard players since it is no longer considered as simply as your rank but you need not only 25 wins but 750+ LIFETIME WINS?? MOST people do not have nearly as much since even playing from LAUNCH and OW1, youre forcing people to GRIND incredibly for something they should have already earned BY RIGHT.
Yes, I get it, its to stop the smurfs, but 750 is beyond ridiculous, at MOST it should be 250. Change this stupid rule now, youve already gotten so much backlash and youre even putting your core playerbase that love and grind the game to the trash because you have no respect for competitive integrity or accuracy of who truly deserves the Top 500 title.
Why did I spent New Years Eve thinking I was 1 rank away from Top 500, only to be absolutely disappointed I need 650 MORE WINS TO QUALIFY…someone get a dev and yell at them to change this, beyond ridiculous.
That does seem like a really high number… but then again, this is about grinding to T500, the ‘best of the best,’ the 1% of Overwatch. Makes sense it would be at least a little hard to obtain.
The fact that I probably have over 2000 lifetime wins and never got past Masters makes me feel real sad. Course I wouldn’t know anymore cause Blizz erased all my comp history from OW1…
750 wins is not a little hard…if you read my post you’d understand this is lack of competitve integrity, the MAJORITY of ACTUAL Top 500 players…aren’t deemed as ‘Top 500’…what a freaking joke…
I wonder how many people this affects. At least, how many people this affects who aren’t existing T500 folk trying to fill up the top ten with their alt accounts which is why this is in place.
One thing’s for sure, though: if OW’s “core playerbase” is that small, then I’m a bit worried about the game’s future.
Goes from complaining about not getting top 500 (which tells me the person cares enough to want to be able to say they did it) to saying “game is dead”
I was convinced by the other gentlemen, they were compelling. And compared to Marvel Rivals, it is dead. But I unfortunately am one of the few who like it more.
One simply does not pick up a new game and become one of the best THAT fast. Like, I got GM within three seasons of starting and that’s crazy fast progression, but by that point, I was still nowhere NEAR T500 level. By that point, I had also likely had more than 750 wins.
