6v6 Rein feels terrible

Mostly the cooldown increase and steering reduction on charge. Is this really necessary?

The only reason to play rein is to have fun charging people into walls as often as possible and this just really kills all the fun for me.

I thought with two tanks I would have more freedom to charge people, but with these changes it’s basically impossible to do what I love.

They really didn’t need to revert his charge control.

They’s afraid of us Wii Wheel users.

I haven’t played Rein yet in 6v6 but he does seem to not be doing too well and hard time keeping up with new tanks.

That’s not the experience I’ve been having. It feels like Reinhardt is required in the 2-2-2 mode, and the other Tank on the team can pretty much be anything besides Doomfist or Wrecking Ball because those 2 don’t pair well with Rein.

The changes to Rein in 6v6 is an overtuned mess. They essentially reverted him back into a shield only main tank who can’t apply any pressure.

The right way to balance rein wouldve been to leave his kit exactly the same and reduce the damage of his firestrikes/charge and swing.

Instead, the took away all of the fun of what Rein is now. It makes absolutely no sense to revert him to OW 1 and call it a day.

I play 6v6 customs with rein’s kit the same as it is in live where only his healthpool/shield is reduced. It works.

Well said. Yeah I really hope they do something like you suggested because I don’t want my favorite tank turned into a sleeper shieldbot as a tradeoff for 6v6.

I feel bad for rein players man Why’d they remove his power steering? Every other change was understandable but not that QOL change.

People here thinking that bringing 6v6 means they will play the 5v5 raidboss tank in this format. LEL

Tanking in 6v6 is just it. You’re a tank now, not the main character that just presses W and kills everyone.

Is it bad that I secretly hope that 6v6 does return and replace 5v5 just so that DPS players have to eat the queue times they deserve for daring to get my precious Reinhardt nerfed?!

Either that or the Reins I end up partnering with feel obliged to be a shieldbot.

Don’t worry, fellow Rein, I two-trick Dva and Zarya on tank for the most part. I got you. I will bubble. I will matrix. I will peel for the backline. I got you homie.

Put the shield down and get a big slam in.

Yes, it is necessary to be more punishable because you are sharing the tank power budget with another teammate. This is how Rein was in 6v6.

ya. should’ve kept the steering and lowered the damage by 50

Right, imo Rein should mostly be using his shield mostly for flashing it strategically as his team maneuvers quickly forward at a steady pace. Tanking ults/full retreats are the only times it should be shieldbot time.

He does

2k hp shield is basically being a god.

Even in ow1 it got nerfed at some point.

I suspect they made rein having 2k shield and low mobility just to force him to be a Shield bot.
In order to say something like “so with 6v6 we had an issue with shields being too strongs and being omnipresent so we were right about 5v5”

Isn’t this how rein was for 6v6 though? One fire strike. Massive shield. And he is there to shield bot and maintain space while the off tank does everything you wanted to do. That’s how rein is for a 6v6 environment.
