6v6 queue discussion

Hi, OG Overwatch player here, I believe we need to have a 6v6 role queue that is 2 tanks, 2 dps, 2 supports. I get lot of games where there’s 3 dps, 1 tank, and 1 healer. I just think it’d be a more balanced experience for all of us who want to play 6v6 like the old days. Blizzard, I love you truly, please keep this game going by listening to your player base. A good amount of us are actually rational people.

That comes with the problem of queue times. And they seem to always want an open queue mode available, so they would need to make another unranked mode further splitting the playerbase. I don’t imagine they will make a role queue 6v6.

I think that is what makes Open Que fun. I literally just won a match as the sole support. I get a lot of 3 support, 2 tanks and 1 dps and the match is smooth. Sometimes its 1 tank. It keeps the matches interesting and you have to adapt and swap to make things work.

this system was determined to be a failure in OW1 and was as a result abandoned by Blizzard in OW2

I consider 222 to have been THE worst change ever made to this game, handsdown

If they had a 6v6 role queue option, that’s all I’d play. I’d never touch 5v5 again.

I prefer 6v6 as well, but if given the choice between 5v5 role-less queue and 6v6 222, I would choose the freedom of 5v5 role-less queue every single time

Interesting. I’ve played since the original launch, the only reason I’m saying that is because I’ve seen every aspect of OW from the lawless days of six torbs to the birth of 2-2-2 to the progression into 5v5. I’ve never thought the game was more balanced than 2-2-2 once they got double shield under control.

From a strictly preference of not being forced to play support when my Soldier teammate is 2-12 and refuses to swap, I prefer role queue. Though damage creep is currently seeping into 5v5, I’ve never like the raid boss tank.

I think two tanks is the sweet spot. I also think that queuing for a role is a more of a direct indication of skill.

Respectfully, I am also a day one OW player. As a support player I wanted 222 rq. Looking back, it was a mistake. I would rather play goats again than double shield, hanzo/sym ever again. My point being is 222 severely limits creativity and incentivizes mirrors and tank counter swapping nonsense.

It wasn’t a failure. The reason they went to 5v5 was because of according to them, it made q times and balancing better/easier. Although I do agree that 222 was bad for the game, kiri beyond a shadow of a doubt was the worst change to the game ever.

it was abandoned as a failure by Blizzard with the move to OW2

Are you a tank main, by chance?

Open queue is basically forcing us to “queue” for wasted matches where people don’t play their roles or don’t even play 2 tanks at all.

I despise 5v5, there is no excues for 6v6 to not have role queue.

The only alternative is nerfing the ever living **** of tanks, so that 2 are not necessary to win.

no excuse needed

222 was abandoned as a failure by Blizzard with the move from OW1 to OW2

There’s no need for a failure of a mode to ever return

Their only failure was their stupidity. The mode was fine, just needed more tanks and improve tank experience to improve queue times.

Which they unironically did whilst removing 6v6.

the 222 mode failed

the 222 mode was abandoned

the 222 mode, being an abandoned failure, never needs to return to the game again

Do you only speak in circle? Do you think you’re making an argument or a statement of logic?

You’re now muted, the only state anyone should accept you in.

Yeah, kind of his whole schtick.

Thinks he’s objectively correct about everything and that everyone else is just trolling or dumber than him.

there’s no circle involved

the statements I made are correct

There’s always a circle with you.

Not in 5v5. I hate tanking in 5v5.

Gotta agree. The feeling of being a Support and supporting your whole team is worth the struggle. :folded_hands: :rescue_worker_s_helmet: :trophy:
