6v6 queue <1m, <8m, <12m

Looks like nobody wants to play tank again.

I saw similar this weekend. 12m queue for QP is unreal

No that pretty real. That was true in ow1. That’s to be expected. :joy:

Can’t be unreal if we already knew 6v6 can have those types of queues…they can be far worse in upper ranks as well

Edit - we really shouldn’t be saying 6v6 actually….its 222 we’re talking about

There is a reason many have stated we went to 5v5 just because of queue times. And now you see why. Hate to be this guy but it looks like ow2 6v6 honeymoon phase is over. :joy:

Yep 5v5 was purely queue time. I am speechless at just the thought of waiting through high rank queue time levels just for a crappy QP match

Devs to us: “we told ya so”

I thought this was a thread about “sizes” :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:…

French users, you get me :p…

I mean, obviously. They did nothing to try to help queue times and actively made the tanking experience worse with their changes from 5v5. We no longer have systems like priority passes or lootboxes for flex queues either. They’re not even trying.

Let me guess: instead of actually doing their job and making tanks not suck, devs will just say “oh well, nothing to see here, working as intended, off to 5v5 with you”

But it shows "less then a minute " !

Because tank still feels like garbage to play but now there’s 2 of them. They didn’t and probably won’t fix the issues with the tank role. I got extremely tired of trying to play hazard, doomfist or ball and getting shut down by sleep dart and anti. Decided to just go play rivals instead. 6v6 won’t fix the issues with the tank role and 5v5 won’t either. Everything wrong with tanking is a straight BALANCING issue not a format issue. Until changes are made I’m just done.

“Obviously because there’s no 6v6 comp mode!” is an argument I’m hearing a lot. I call bullocks to that.

Oof. Mine are nowhere near that bad. Also interestingly, I’m getting shorter queues for 3 stack than I am for solo.

Must be a regional/time of the day thing, cause mine are still about a minute for tank and DPS, 2-3 for support.

The two biggest reasons that that people wouldn’t want to play tank which were the same as in OW1:

  1. Burst Damage- Nobody likes playing a “tank” and then playing into things like Widow/Ashe from across the map, Cass’ fan, storm arrows, or even JR. I personally think tanks should be tanky and more focused on displacement and mobility OR non-mobile, with more defensive options like barriers but at no point should lethality be a strong part of their kits.

Tanks like RH and DF ruin that philosophy and making tanks centered around or having access to their own kill-combos and/or high damage (outside of point blank range if they don’t have mobility like dive tanks to constantly be in that range) makes balancing the role extremely difficult. They should be tanky and either protecting their team with barriers and that kind of stuff or mobile and displacing enemies.

  1. Sigma- This character was a problem in OW1 as well and a pretty annoying one. He simply does too much. He has the “answer” to too many things and his weaknesses are too easily mitigated because they aren’t pronounced enough, especially in 6v6. He is like a tank and a half while some other tanks are like .75 of a tank. In 6v6, he does entirely too much. It also isn’t fun for tank players to play against this guy. He should have his damage lowered and/or his range reduced/capped on his barrier and his primary fire. I also really dislike that he has the most versatile barrier AND DM that gives him extra hp, whoever thought that was a good idea is a complete idiot. It would help if he at least couldn’t use his DM as an extra shield to block and eat stuff for his team, if he has it, it should not be as big as it is.

You break Rein’s barrier, he isn’t spinning his hammer to get extra armor and eat projectiles and ults, you break Zarya’s bubble and she isn’t spinning her gun and getting a DM, Ram’s buff form isn’t eating ults and projectiles, he’s actually having to eat that damage and take it on, not get stronger for it. Sigma does too much, especially in 6v6.

Well there’s two things going on.

Alot of people are out of town right now, like me, for Xmas vacation so way less flex players in the population until we return home.

The other thing is it’s about to be Xmas. So we will be playing our new games or Marvel Rivals more.

There’s not much reason to play ow. The bp is meh. Before I left I am just two wins away from getting the Widow skin.

Why would I play years old winter events for sprays I either already have or will never use?

I don’t think it is a people hate tanks issue. Ow 2 has scraps for content. This is new content via Xmas gifts this week.

Hazard and old ow winter event can’t compete with that.

Not surprising. 2-2-2 is never going to work, I don’t know why we’re wasting time with it outside of owc.

Mine are 7-7-5 atm. Not to mention according to everyone who I’ve heard is queueing they’re considerably faster.

But more to the point, anyone trying to draw a conclusion from these numbers is desperately grasping at straws to try and justify their belief that the mode is bad. We definitely will not know accurate data until the devs tell us. They are the only ones who actually know how good or bad the queues are, and how many people are playing the mode.

2-2-2 is so outdated and stupid.

1-3-2 would be better in a 6v6 format, just let the tank be a raid boss and create/rework them to the point i requires 3 people minimum to bring them down.

DPS players get what they want.

the few tank players get the better version of their unfun heroes.

supports are supports.

So all tank players went on vacation and are having a good ole time, while DPS and supports are somehow stuck playing Overwatch.

Nah. The honeymoon period with 6v6 is done; some
may like it more but main tanking is still like peeling your skin off.
