6v6 is probably just better

Just came here to say it feels great. No complaints. Team fights actually feel like team fights again.

It’s good that this version of 6v6 gels with you, but it’s not the 6v6 the forum rats were begging for. Which honestly begs the question, was their problem with 5v5? Or was it something else they took umbrage with?

The only difference is that the S9 changes are still in place, so if this isn’t the version we wanted… Then what is?

And how exactly do you know what us “forum rats” wanted? :rat::rat::rat::rat:

I for one like the healing passive quite a few of us do so it is kinda reductive putting us all in the same boat.

Forum rats don’t know what they want. They just complain about everything while suggesting changes that other people wouldn’t want, never stopping to wonder if they are the reason they aren’t having fun with the game anymore. OW is over eight years old at this point, afterall.

But somehow you know what they want…

Welcome to the realization that there are millions of people on the internet and everyone has different desires.

6v6 is more balanced than 5v5.

I still believe 5v5 can be a great format. I just don’t see the devs figuring out how to handle it.
They seem too cautious to do any meaningful change.

6v6 was great, minus the queue times.
If they manage to make tank more “fun” or to solve the queue times issue, no one would complain.

And I think they should keep both 5v5 and 6v6 at the same time.

Keeping the headshot reduction and knockback passives to me would go a great ways to making tank feel overall fun to play. It addresses two chief complaints.

CC spam into the hero. Personally, its hard CC which people complained about, but knockbacks being plentiful certainly didn’t help matters. 5sec sleep dart again… AND more frequent bionades. Blagh.
Feeling of exploding. The greatest feeling of exploding is the combination of headshots being able to go from 1.0x damage to 2x damage at random feeling spikes. Reducing it to 1.5x makes that feel less explodey.

6v6 does have its big issues in that it can be very polarizing. The difference in a game between having say Sigma + Ramattra is very different game from having Dva/hog. There are still shat combinations and counterpicking is still very much a thing. NOthing will stop a ball from exploding in a backline when an enemy team picks sombra and backline camps. You will NOT have a fun time. You have to hope your other tank goes Zarya.

The thing is, a lot of the new tanks that came out with OW2 are actually fun. I think people picking tank won’t be a problem in 6v6.

Overwatch has always had fun tanks. The thing was is that the tank experience makes you ripe for abuse because tanks having all the bulk and sustain means they are often the initiators. The first thing everyone will see and kill.

Its was predominately bad until the open Q set-up where you could have a single tank on a team and had to somehow play the role while taking all of the pressure. When both teams have only 1 tanks, its fair, but when one team might have 1 and the other 2. Its lopsided.

tanking sucks in 5vs5, the whole team and match is about who heals the tank the most, if tank dies the match is over, dont even try to fight a 4vs5, there are more problems but this is the main problem if 5vs5

this version of 6vs6 is not the best but 6vs6 is better than any 5vs5

For the core game modes I personally prefer 5v5 especially because of the reworks some heroes gotten like Roadhog who can be more strategic with his pig pen and resource-breather and Wreckingball who can give overhealth to allies. I´m sad that Ball can´t do that in 6v6 and would have prefered to at least have it on a lower rate and maybe less time just too see how it feels and before his rework I sadly played Hog less even so he´s one of the heroes I like the most.
BUT
I play other heroes too and some feel a bit better in 6v6 like for example Brigitte where I feel like I don´t get as much value out of her reworked ult in 5v5.
The devs talked about they would like to create a game that their player base can enjoy and if 5v5 and 6v6 could co-exist I think it would be good as there would be something for everyone.

this have nothing to do with 5vs5 lol, the 6vs6 test roadhog prerework just proves hi rework was stupid and pointless, every character even with their ow2 reworks work fine, orisa rework was clearly done with 6vs6 in mind, it eliminates the double shield problem. the rat rework did nothing to him, he is useless in 5vs5, he cant protect anyone, with 6vs6 you can have the tank doing the tank things and let the rat roll around, flank, like he should, his shield improved nothing his quality of life in 5vs5

developers talk a lot about their lies and things they will never implement, we cant trust them, they changed to 5vs5 without asking or doing a test or anything, nobody asked for this and they made a lot of people left

besides we don’t have to deal with the same amount of stun we had before, since they took it away from the DPS. No more DPS Doom stunlocking you, he now have to occupy a tank slot, no more Cass stun granade, no more Brig bash, no more Mei’s freezing.

i just finally played some 6v6 today. i’d been tired of overwatch lately but 6v6 has actually been a blast

If you think they aren´t worth your trust anymore I can´t judge you on that or am I trying to convince you otherwise.
I personally was excited for the PvE-Modes but I asked myself after they cancled it “Is there still something I can enjoy about the game?” and yes, there are still things I like about the game even if the planned content unfortunately didn´t happen. In my eyes it wasn´t a lie but rather an idea which was executed poorly and therefore didn´t work out.
Obviously Roadhog´s Rework wouldn´t make him into a protector like Reinhardt or Winston who have a barrier but his rework makes him not as dependable on the support as he can manage his own healing and can hold his ground better with the pigpen “Sometimes the best defense is a good offense”. Ps: Why you´re talking about a rat when I mentioned hog?
