Neither is 25% headshot reduction on tanks, making them raidbosses. The hp/ hitbox changes ruining the core time to kill.
You took everything good about 5v5 and ruined it. It’s like the balance team is trying to murder 5v5, gotta be the worst balance team in gaming history.

Faster queue times, no throwing tanks dodging queue times, no double shield, no broken tank synergy, less ultimate spam/ clutter.
5v5 would be amazing if they left tanks balanced before this last patch without 25% headshot reduction on tanks. Didn’t ruin the game with the hp, hitbox changes. It would be the best fps on the market, but now it’s complete trash.
Perhaps. It’s true, you require one fewer player per team which may improve queue times. But the fact is playing tank role sucks now, so even fewer people are playing tank, so they’ve actually made the problem worse.
This is just my anecdote, but personally I never had this issue with the priority passes. A losing game only gave you one pass, which wasn’t worth it at all.
The issue wasn’t double shield, it was specifically the AoE healing and immortality from Bap/Brig combined with Sigma and Orisa’s shields plus Sigma’s grasp. Sigma had too much damage mitigation in OW1 and they never reworked or balanced him properly. Orisa doesn’t even have a shield anymore, so this argument falls flat on its face completely. Brig and Bap are still an issue and should probably be looked at.
The lack of tank synergies is what makes playing tank suck right now.
Skill issue.
Tanks weren’t balanced before this patch, and they aren’t balanced after this patch.
its so tiring having to explain to people with not enough intelligence why 5v5 is trash, i already did that alot so you can be a flat earth believer, have fun, we most of the original overwatch playerbase can use 2 neurons to realize why 5v5 was never better and never will be
Queues will never be as bad as 6v6, they were still half the time they were before this last patch for 6v6.
You’d wait 10 minutes for throwing Hog, Wrecking balls dodging queue times, against tanks with synergy like double shield, Rein getting bubbled from Zarya, Winston with a defence matrix.
Before this last patch, tanks were the most balanced they have ever been. This new patch just ruins the whole balance up again and makes dps miserable to play with tanks having WAY too much power.
Tanks felt balanced to play against, they weren’t completely running lobbies for the most part, like now with 25% headshot reduction. None of them felt like they had a huge advantage over the other after the Orisa nerfs besides Cringema
Yeah, instead they were getting run over.
And still are.
Legitimately a skill issue.
And now you can wait 10 minutes for Doom into Orisa, Pharah, Reaper, Ana, Zen instead.
Or Rein into Mauga, Bastion, Sojourn, Ana, Zen.
Or D.va into Zarya, Mei, Symmetra, Moira, Brig
Or Ball into Roadhog, Sombra, McCree, Ana, Zen
Or Mauga into Sigma, Sojourn, Bastion, Ana, Zen
Literally not a single thing has changed between running a Hog/Ball duo into a much better duo and running Doom into a hard counter.
It’s just easier to kill Doom than it was to kill Hog and Ball, and now it’s more likely for your tank to run a character into an excessively unfavourable comp.
The queues are pretty much instant now for dps lol, not even close to 6v6 queue times. I don’t even want to play dps anymore cause tanks are so broken.
If you’re in one of the bigger regions, sure.
In a smaller region like Oceania however, queue times have been dropping since S9. A player drop in NA won’t be as noticeable as a player drop in Oceania.

SKILL ISSUE
Tanks are still very easily killable. Hell, I’m still 1v1ing armour tanks as Lifeweaver and winning lol
I need to lay off the skill? Nah, I’m quite happy 1v1ing tanks on Lifeweaver and winning regardless of any headshot reductions or armour changes. Only tank I wouldn’t face head-on is Mauga. The rest? DPS Weaver go brr.
Simply get good.
triple the skill requirement, so that masters doesn’t feel like plat and silver like diamond (skill requirement makes ranks a lot more distinct since you get less for free) and to at least make respecting your enemies ability a thing
also the game has always been at it worst when abilities dictate the game, it’s the ‘lol i pressed E, i am so good’ gameplay
