I played a few games of the new 2-2-2 playtest (6v6). I see a lot of people say its bad, like its not “True” 6v6. First I just want to say how much I love this test. Its so so good, and from what i’ve seen tanks don’t feel as much pressure, at least not as much as 5v5, supports that got shafted to 225hp feel much better to play in that format, less pressure, and im pretty sure dps heroes are also better, and by better I mean more fun.
Okay okay, im yapping, but at least we should aknowledge that it is in fact more fun, even when the format is not completely but partially changed. I think this the future of OW, they should work on it more and release it and then the game will be true OW again, fun, timeless, pure, the true OW experience. Its the very least they can do for a community that got boned beyond recognition on PVE. Its still my opinion though, tell me what you guys think
(Please be nice :3 )

It is without doubt more fun than the 5v5 version of OW2.

I’ve enjoyed 6v6 so far and I like where it’s at. Tanks don’t feel like they did last time we had 6v6 which is great. Reverts to heroes like zen, hog and ana are nice as well. I’m gonna let the novelty wear off but I genuinely am impressed with how this has turned out.
I was always for 5v5 after the OW2 beta, this COULD sway me.

i prefer 5v5, BUT… i would still agree with the coexistence of 6v6 instead of throwing it into oblivion again and pretending that it was not a worthy version of overwatch.
it would be interesting to manage a season of role q 5v5 and 6v6. maybe putting aside the open q that is not always managed well OR an open q with a maximum role limit as seen in other testing and soon with 6v6.
but the point does not change: regardless of whether it will be valid, 6v6 must return AT LEAST in an unranked form. even if new players do not really care about 6v6, it was not fair to decide for everyone what overwatch was for those who played it in the previous six years.
Devs… an unranked in season 15 is a fair choice for the community pretty much on par with the “assault maps” option in arcade.

Good to see some positivity. Blizz is doing a good job this time but most ppl are ranting emotionally which I could not understand why.

why did you have to say it like that?. the 5v5 version of OW2 is just OW2, what does that mean anyway you put the words backwards too

I don’t really know… Maybe people are just scared of the end format that will come out if it does work on paper for them, or maybe just some people that like Marvel Rivals are trying to bring OW down. Either way Im not listening, not trying to cloud my mind hating or anything, everyone love a game, and as vet from the old days I just want to believe, I hope for the better, I know there is still a chance somewhere, and this playtest is the answer, im sure of it !

I feel the same. I mean, sure, Blizzard has screwed up an insane amount of times, but I still love this game, and I like the devs I’ve spoken to as they’re all really quite caring of the community feedback, even if they can’t 100% execute it. Good old big corpa, right?
I’m grateful to actually be able to play off-tank again, as I started out playing in OG Overwatch with Zarya. This feels like a step in the right direction, but obviously nothing is perfect and they need to likely tune back the S9 changes and HP pools to the original values. This is IMO how OW should be played.
I’m just tired of people whining “I Hate Blizzard, MR the best, I hate this game” every day. Like, please, go find something you enjoy and go focus on that instead of trying to drag people down with you.
No game is perfect nor is it perfectly balanced.

I’d love this but there’s a caveat. Yes, this test 100% confirms that both modes are capable of existing without making the servers overheat. However, it might ramp up tank queue times for people who don’t like solo tanking. From what I’ve gathered today, it’s 50/50 split on solo tanking vs not. There’s a lot of players who quit OW after the 5v5 change and came back specifically for this format.
I’d love this to be back even in QP. I’m not a comp player and never really cared much for it.

Feels like home
Ngl, I was still enjoying 5v5 well enough even though I was more for 6v6m but now that I have it…Man, I don’t think I can go back. If 6v6 doesn’t stick, I think I’ll have to go all in on Marvel.

Called it. I knew this would happen. 6v6 is just too good. It actually feels faster paced more exciting and more action packed.

This reminds me that there was a custom game code that someone made for 6v6 (they had some old cooldown values there, tweaked HP, etc) and it was so incredibly fun. Some content creators tried it and said “this is already a lot better than 5v5”.

Yup I played a lot of that and what made it even more interesting, is a lot of t500 players said it was better balanced than anything blizzard has ever done.

Main tanks already knew this, I never stopped asking 6v6 even 2+ years after ow2, playing solo tank is stressful, duo tank was always much better this is real overwatch

As someone who played pretty much only off-tanks (Zarya, D. Va, Sig), I thought this was just me hating solo tanking because I don’t like being an initiator all the time. I’m glad this kinda justified it just sucks for others regardless

This would be the greatest mode IF they remove the STUPID DPS passive. It’s so bad and it ruins the game.

I’ve only played a couple of tank games, but I feel so much better not having to be everywhere at once. I mained tank in OW1 (usually D.Va), and I love feeling like I can leave my team for just a few seconds so I can jump someone.

don’t worry, it shouldn’t be as bad with any barrier tank to keep you safe for 3 seconds or so now with 6v6

And just like that…OW is fun again.
