5V5 Support is misserable

Like the post says Supports in OW 5V5 are absolutely misserable and its not because of flankers.

Below diamond which is 90% of players people dont know how to contest angles and if your one tank is trash its even worse.

Hitscans can just play wherever they like and rain bullets on supports its not a positioning issue or nothing I was diamond on tank, and i’ve been playing games that have high emphasis on positioning like val and csgo at very high ranks,

So, he can do damage, you can do damage and heal. Stop healing and make him go away. Yes, that is the answer, with a straightforward unarguable logic behind it.

You don’t get it.

OW2 isn’t about counter picks. Unless you are support. Support players have to adapt to what DPS they are facing. Either to counter them, or to not die instantly.

The other 3 players can choose who ever they want but support, at least currently, can’t do that.

You say that but apparently supports being able to defend themselves like brig are too much for DPS as they apperently in your own words, just can’t shoot.

That is called face roll no skill involved, not defense, but afk gameplay, no effort-high value, therefore you get punished for choosing to play that hero. This not what ow is about anymore. Learn to shoot or develop gamesense to not get off-angled.

I say: let the queue times be the ultimate judge of the state of balance for supports. There are a lot of those who cry out that supports are OP. But now, less than 1 week in, the queue time is already 5 min DPS, <2 min supports. And that’s with all the hype for the game still in and new players still present en-masse (a lot of them will drop regardless of the fact if OW2 is a great game or not - it just might be not for them)

If in a month time we’re back to square 1 and we see that supports queue is <2 min and DPS queue is back to 30 minutes - it will be a wake up call. But for now let’s wait and see.

Lol mad when you finally face a support that isn’t a free kill? Tells a lot about your defense, it’s fine unless I no longer have the advantage! Guess those supports you complaining about do actually have a point, even if you can’t admit it publicly at least you can admit it to yourself.

No my problem is that clearly 5v5 was a terrible idea.

All they needed to do was remove stuns in 6v6 and it would’ve been fine there was no need for 5v5
Removing stuns would’ve made tanks and flankers more playable.

Im a flex player from OW1 and played about Diamond level across all roles with similar hours on each role and honestly for supports it feels like trash playing OW.

Your problem is that you do not adapt, no matter the version of the game, now your flaws are just more obvious. Work on it.
Tanks stacking is op, 5v5 is more competitive.
My peak was 4371 in ow1 dps and 3826 support, what it taught me that you have to make a play all the time or get effed.
Support is harder now because you have to play on full potential, not just healbotting. You need to win your isolated 1v1s now on your own and do it consistently to climb. There is a lot of time to not focus on healing. Back in ow1 you had 3 options, poking+healing, healbotting, fully dps. Now you have to do everything at once: healing while killing and you have the most broken kits for that in support roster btw.
You got this, just practice and do not tilt.

You’re correct that there isn’t counter picking in the game in terms of “I pick this hero to remove that hero” but hero choice does still impact match ups. Supports want to play off of what their other support player is playing. Tanks will want to pay attention to their comp is shaping up to be. DPS is more free pick wise but you’d still gain an advantage paying attention to what the enemies are doing.

As far as support goes (providing you have decent aim skill) you can take Ana, Bap, and Kiriko into any comp as flex picks.

You cannot adopt I can do more damage but it means nothing if people on my team wont clear hitscans angles supports cannot do that like tanks and dps can.

So realistically it is a skill gap and its not a problem in high tier but in low tier and mid tier games will be misserable.
Which is a terrible idea if you want to keep players.

If they have control over almost all sightlines that isnt a positioning issue if im on gibraltar and my tanks dont clear top they can shoot me from behind and infront.

That is a dps/tank not clearing high ground issue not a positioning issue.

You mean like how DPS didn’t adapt to Brig and instead cried and tilted until we got things like role lock, Brig’s streak of nerfs and now the removal of shield bash’s stun?

Bap can do, just ego peek with imo and shift - ez dps diff. Ana can do in long range, she has no falloff. So many advantages over dps characters. Broken kits as being said.

More bronze supports need to learn hitscan heroes.
