I recently changed my sens and wanted to ask if the sens combination is typical of a CC player (like ashe and mcree) or not, i had to reduce my sens on mcree and ashe to 4.80 because i struggled a lot on landing shots.
Yeah that sens seems fine to me. 800 and 6 is considered average.
Well that depends on your aim style, I like to use my whole arm for big flicks and wrist to adjust, so I would need something lower.
But sens is something personal I guess.
pretty avg sens. i personally use 7.02 with 400 but its all personal preference as long as ur sens isnt ridiculously high. exceptions can be made for people like haksal who are just naturally extremely gifted
I would say it’s decent but still a bit high for my taste, I use 4 myself, 6 would be too much for me ha!
I use 4.5 sensitivity and 1k dpi
Some heroes I bump the dpi higher like Dva for pivoting while firing.
I prefer 800x4 on heroes like Cree, Ashe, Zen or Hanzo et cetera, to land more precise shots, but I play 800x6 on Tracer, Genji, Winston or Rein, where I need to do quick turnarounds.
Thats the thing, i want to do that but i prioritize muscle memory over everything.
Yea it’s kinda the issue. I mostly play Tracer and Genji so my primary sens would be 800x6 if I’d have to choose one but if I am bad with hitscans at 800x4 then i’ll be even worse at 800x6, so thats why i play this way.
for hitscan i’d say 800 and 4.5 or lower, I found any higher was harder to kill Pharahs
Pick a sens and just stick to it. Every time you change it your muscle memory needs to adjust. I picked a sens that works for every hero and stuck to it. You just need to not think about sens at all. Just practice.
Welp time to change all my sens to 5.80, question though, what should my ADS sens be for widow ana and ashe?
For Ashe and Widow I just used the values on some zoom sensitivity calculator online and it feels good. You can find it here: https ://jscalc-blog.com/overwatch-zoom-sensitivity-calculator/
(by the way scroll down to get to the calculator)
Also you wanna make sure that the sens feels good. If you feel that 5.80 sens is not adequate you still got the chance to lower it or to increase it. Be honest with yourself when picking it. I picked my sens so that I could play tanks, mobile heroes like Genji/Doomfist which need to do 180s, hitscans, projectile heroes, etc. I’m not saying you should copy me or anything just saying that’s what I personally did. I have no issues with my sens right now and everything is just a matter of practice to me.
No i love this sens, i do really well with genji and sigma with this sense, i just really struggle on CC but thats to be expected.
There’s people playing on all kinds of sensitivities out there so if you really like 5.80 then it’s just a matter of adjusting when using more aim intensive/precise heroes like hitscans. If the aiming is really difficult though (like last time I set it to 8x800 which was great for Doomfist and Genji I had genuine issues aiming with hitscans and snipers) you might wanna consider changing it. Maybe go inbetween to 5.30 or so, etc. I use 5x800 which is lower than yours but I have a pretty huge mouse pad. I can do a 360 in each direction (when in the middle of it) without a problem and that’s exactly how I wanted it to be so I had complete freedom. It’s all personal preference though. Normally all you need to be able to do is a 180.
I like your idea, i did do much more better on 4.80 but i feel like thats still a large difference in sens to the point it would hinder muscle memory. Ill try to force myself to play CC on 5.80 and if i just cant ill switch to 5.30. Thanks for the advice
Just make sure it feels good for you. Good luck in finding your sens! Just remember to decide so you don’t need to worry about sens anymore. Just write it down somewhere afterwards and forget about it.
Decide on a overall sens or CC sens?
I did an overall sens for the sake of muscle memory. It is possible to learn two different sensitivities but it’s a lot more work.
Gotcha, thank you again.
