55hps won't fix Mercy

60 hps are mandatory, 55 hps is useless as at 50 hps. If long ago they made a 60 hps buff and because it was essential, the minimum for a main support.
Also now on OW the global damage is much higher than before.

Resurrect should be a passive effect where she presses F to interact with the fallen soul sprites. Potentially with no cooldown if it required 2-3 seconds to cast and was completely interrupted by any damage making it more of an out of combat medic ability. (I could imagine this being a thing for ANY character, becoming a normal game mechanic where you can revive teammates, in which case Mercy could potentially do it instantly or in half the time without interruption?)

Then give her a real E ability. Preferably a burst heal effect. Maybe it even bathes a single target in the light effect of when they’re resurrecting, making them invulnerable for half a second to serve as a reverse interrupt effect.

Am I the only one who thinks she’s in a good place now? All of the supports are situational, and all of them are powerful when used appropriately.

Mercy isn’t a blanket “Must Pick”, any more, but she is still a “Best Pick” about 1/3 of the time.

The issue is that she is generally a bad pick for GOATS. I think the fact that we are living in a GOATS meta is the real problem.

Not a good comparison, my friend. Speaking as somebody who’s been playing both Lucio and Mercy for a long time, Mercy doesn’t provide anywhere near the same utility and clutch potential that Lucio can.

The problem is about the only change the vocal “#revertmercy” crew ever wants is mass rez which is never coming back, if you can get them to agree on something beyond that (they are also adamant she be a “pure” healer but complain its boring at the same time so combat and utility are out… go figure) it will be a miracle.

For the most part, the “#revertmercy” crew has joined the “#rework Mercy” population.

The most liked thread on the forums (with over 16k likes) includes a Mercy rework proposal that inlcudes a nerfed version of mass rez, and a new, defensive-utility E ability to pick up the slack.

I stand vindicated then, the issue isn’t what form of hash-tag for pete’s sake, it’s the problem of mass rez in general. I couldn’t care less for a nerfed version, it isn’t coming back because it is too overpower for OWL. Investors I feel hate the idea of some blonde cheerleader with little to no perceived skill overturning a game won by a group of skilled players. Agree or not, I believe this is really why it was removed and won’t return. Likes on a thread don’t make it a good idea, especially when the forum is clearly overrun with Mercy mains.

what if they got rid of rez and her E was a projectile ball that’s basically a floating mega health pack that when it hits a teammate they get like 150 hp. And then with valk just give her the staff in one hand and the gun in the other, kill and heal at the same time

The could always make her gun more viable, but that’s really not her thing. Her design seems very limited as to what she can do as she always needs a beam on someone. Maybe they could just make her movement more fun, angel hopping on steroids?

No one gives two potatos if she’s “Balanced”, the problem is she feels ABYSMAL to play and doesn’t compare to even v1.0 origin Mercy.

The only reason she was ever a must pick in the past is because she was the only proper main healer until Ana. Then guess what? Ana was the must pick until she was slapped with nerfs. Then Mercy shined again during the overpowered rework that made her a hell of a lot of fun to play, but I admit was very strong and not very balanced (Though I would suggest it wouldn’t be unbalanced if we had another 3 new main healer characters added to the game to round out options and provide more variety.)

Mercy doesn’t feel like Mercy. She doesn’t feel like a hero. She doesn’t feel fun to play. She doesn’t feel impactful.

Yeah, but it would put them in a place that you can start iterating on the design of her without the baggage.

As long as she is the best single target healer in the game, she is the Mercy I fell in love playing :slight_smile:

Currently, she just isn’t.

Then get rid of Valkyrie and bring back her niche of being a single target healer then. Let her niche be her team reliant mobility and her single target healing as well as being a bad multitasker. Then add from there. Rez has a place in the game it just needs to be fair to play against but also fair to use. She needs something other than heal/boost to actually feel engaging. What about an E ability that lets her heal/boost and shoot at the same time for a short amount of time? Like she has a highlight intro of her with her staff out and her gun why not let her do both? Rez should go back to ult I mean that’s literally what it was designed to be. It just needs more restrictions to the execution of it but also some utility towards living allies and promote Tempo Resurrects.

Actually, 55 HPS would fix a lot of issues with Mercy. I’d rather have 55 HPS than no changes at all.

More of a bandaid fix to be honest.

I don’t care what they remove (apart from GA) to get her back to her specialization, but I’d much rather they did so soon.

Like sometimes I wish I could pull out my pistol while healing. Like when you are pocketing Pharah but you feel like you should contribute in trying to take out the enemy Pharah and you just want to shoot at her. An E ability that gives you the ability to multitask would be nice. Also would give a nice stepping stone into other heroes as well.

Rez I just think can’t work as a static cooldown. Like if it takes a movement penalty a movement slow an animation lock and a 30 second cooldown to make it manageable as an ability is just too much.
