We all know you’re a Ball main. He’s meta now so you should expect the counters anyway. At least if you’re any good. Especially if you play in high ranks as you claim and not just a literal who. Also what’s your chess rating or do you hide that too?

Yes I main ball, but I wouldn’t consider myself a one trick anymore. I usually stay on him if it’s just sombra or even just brig but typically I’ll swap off if it becomes sombra cass brig which unfortunately is often

Just to force an “even match” they got us playing people two ranks higher, with teammates two ranks lower.
This is NOT right. And the REASON this happens? It’s because we went to Open Queue and won a bunch to shoot our win rate higher before the matchmaker could adjust. Except it DID adjust eventually, gave us extra hard mode, even in Role Queue…
It’s been like 30 nearly unwinnable games. Because the Matchmaker is looking to drag us to 50%.
Edit: Oh look. Another loss and our 2nd support had 1700 heals all game. And we’re vs. 3 plats AND A DIAMOND.
We’re gold.
That is loser’s queue 100% and Blizzard can suck it. Fix it now.
It sort of feels like nothing is really real in Overwatch 2.
It’s just a completely CoD-ified mess which I guess is aimed at ADD-children raised by social media, on a sugar high wielding their parents credit card.

Hi NattyK! Based on my experience, you can still rank up even if you have negative winrates. I’ve gotten a lot of rank ups even though I went even (5W 5L) or negative (5W 5L+).
However, this does not mean that winrate does not matter. As I said, winrate is much less of a factor in rank compared to performance, but that doesn’t mean it is obsolete.
Additionally, “stats” such as DMG or Elims do NOT make up the entirety of performance. Performance refers to your “stats” against a certain rank. The reason why you are seeing Plat/Diamonds/Masters/etc. in your matches is because the game is testing your ability on whether or not you can still perform well against a higher rank. If you are performing well against higher ranks (getting picks, holding against them, etc.), your MMR will increase and therefore your SR will too.
I can help you answer your questions in more detail if you could clarify “good stats” a little more. Are your stats fairly consistent across games? Are you performing well against higher ranked opponents? Do you know when to look for picks, or pressure the tank? Are you a “difference maker”?
Im totally fine with this and im happy to take this challenge. But pls dont give me silver team mates (for eg) to go up against ranks higher ranks.
Thats my main problem.
I might not have too much difficulty with the challenge but some team mates could and that affects your results.
A real test would be to team you up WITH higher ranks, against higher ranks to see if you can hang.
I’m not sure how a 60% win rate will translate in GM1, maybe you’ll reach your 50/50 there, or you’re part of the few who’s just above the rest, keep on going, those are nice numbers!
I am pumping massive heals into my team and then they cant get picks some matches so we get spawn camped. Or my rien will charge in about 100 meters and instant die. Not a lot I can do about that. I have another account that was getting High Diamond Low Masters lobbies and did fine. I’ve played since season 7 OW1 and I know right away when I am failing. I literally get teammates that want to run Pharah into hit scan and then complain about it.
I know I need to play the long game but having to grind while dealing with these teammates is miserable. I can only do so much as support. I am going to try DPS role after mid season update because my Reaper, Sym, Soilder is decent enough. My friend just did a climb from Silver to Diamond but when we played Season 1 ( i know it was wonky) it was lockking him him silver, Deranked him once while moving me up 3 notches after my 2nd set of 5 wins. He’s always been better than me and is a Masters tracer main. I’ve only been a diamond Zar/Sigma on my best days in OW1, that’s why that second account had such high MMR.
I’ve really studied this game, i know all counters and all synergy parings. I know when to press and when to fall. I know who has ults on enemy team from their body language and just general sense. I really feel like that matchmaker is screwing with me and if I can get a Silver lobby with real silver players I can climb rather fast I think. I climbed about 1000 SR in OW1 right when Sigma came out as I LEARNED how to play him.
