After the weekly challenges reset, I played some matches to advance the battle pass, hoping to have some luck with my teams.
Matches:
3 Losses
2 Wins
4 Losses
1 Win
Totaling 10 matches, 7 losses and 3 wins, I mentioned in some forum post that there is no such thing as 50/50, which is actually 70/30, 80/20 or 90/10.
The problems are always the same: awful MMR (infinite problem, I’ve been hearing about improvements in MMR since season 1 of Ow2) and leavers…
And if you get forum ban or chat ban monitor your games there, i find when i get forum banned my win rate drops to 15-20%, and the day after the ban ends i will have a 70% win rate… have tested this 3 times this year with the same results. Get forum suspension, watch games become one sided beatings, ban lifts and you get to win.
2 days prior to my forum suspension ending i was getting 1w/15L. The day it was going to end 2w/12L. Logged in after the suspension ended 8w/1L
what that says to the Devs is “i am nice so you can walk on me”
It is kinda sad but true fact the people who are nice and enjoy the game get forced to be crapped on, almost like they are trying to make people toxic.
No basic math is what creates 50/50. 10 is an irrelevantly small sample even if it were 10 games on the same map.
It’s a simple mathematical constant that if you use ANY rating system and find 9 people of similar rating and then the winning team gains rating and the losing team loses it, then the end result is a 50% win rate. It is very simple math.
Guys… it’s LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE for everyone to be losing more often than winning, because every single game (not counting draws of course cause those don’t affect win/loss rates) one team wins and another loses.
When people are playing with and against similarly skilled opponents, their win chance (and thus winrate) should naturally converge close to 50%.
Otherwise people would be climbing up ranks or deranking.
Better players hit ~50% winrate at higher ranks, than worse players.
It is quite straightforward.
The “forced 50/50” is something people who just like to blame anything but themselves perpetuate.
It’s a good way of not improving in the game.
Thing is, I have seen the opponent perform equal to others yet they are getting stomped, this is more obvious when you are a healer.
Also keep in mind this is a team game.
The only way what you say makes sense is if players are approaching the game wrong, like tanks should main dps, healers should main dps. If you main dps in every single role you have a greater chance to turn the tide. If you strickly stick to your role then you are more locked into bad team work and team synergy.
If two healers are healing the same, fragging the same, and are the same hero. Then it falls to dps, tanking, and overall team work. This is assuming you’re supposed to play your role and not try turn the tide in every match up by focusing on dps.
