50 wins is how many OW1 levels?

New players need 50 wins in QP to gain access to competitive in OW2. Which level does an average player reach with 50 wins in QP, in Overwatch 1 ?

Is it longer than to reach level 25 ?

With just a rough guess, I think it will be similar enough.

Regardless if it’s longer or shorter, people need to win to access competitive asap.
So no more throwing. Which is a good thing.

Its 100 games to have the roaster and THAN 50 wins to enter comp. With a 50% WR thats 200 games. They dont stack because otherwise it would be possible to enter comp without all OW1 heroes lol

In OW1 levels? I would say around 30-40. So not much longer but still a bump for smurfs. (10 games per full level = 20 full levels but the first 20 levels require less XP so around 30-40).

So if QP may become ā€œcompetitive rules QPā€, it might require twice more time to win 50 games than in OW1, since QP with competitive is twice longer than normal QP

This is incorrect.

Comp is accessible with 50 wins (however many games you actually need to play to make that happen)

The roster is not a requirement before entering comp, but if you want to play a particular hero in comp, then you will need to unlock them. No one knows FOR CERTAIN how long that may take, how many games need to be won/played, etc.

And this all ONLY applies to brand new accounts that are opened after OW2 launches.

Now.

That said, no one has said anything about accounts that are transferred over that have NOT reached level 25 for comp yet.

Will the 50 games won thing still need to apply? (will however many games you may have already won count?)

Those are more important questions for some I’m sure.

Good luck.

i’ve had more issues with smurfs going tryhard in qp (popping off with widow or a pharmercy) than throwing.

do OG OW players get access to comp right away?

Well assuming about 10 minute games each time, and you won every game with a gold medal and stayed the whole way and every game is consecutive, you’d get about 3750 xp (~4 xp per second in match 2400, 150 for gold medal, 250 for staying the whole way, 500 for winning, 300 for consecutive game, 150 for endorsing 3 people) per average quick play game (numbers might be just a bit off

to get to level 25 you need 349500 (assuming the xp requirements for the early levels i found were correct) which is approximately 93 quick play wins in a row to access comp currently with absolute best case fastest possible situation, its probably gonna be more like about 150-200

I hope 50 QP matches are specified, because otherwise it would simply mean winning extremely fast matches in Jubnkenstein, Mei snowball operation etc. In arcade it is really ridiculous to consider this experience, as opposed to what you would have to get in QP to get feedback on how comp modes work.

I’m just QP, it’ll probably hit 35-45 exp levels or more. but we speak specifically of WINS, not games, so maybe you actually get to have the equivalent of matches played to get to 60 lv exp.

Seems about the same.

I did 120 matched in 3 days.

IMO 50 wins, really isn’t that big of a deal. I think hours played would be much better and more effective at keeping the competitive smurffing down.

Blizzard says ā€œ50 winsā€ from a ā€œnormalā€ game mode. So um. well I mean 50 wins in a day for me. I mean I guess it wouldn’t take me that long to get there…

As for hero unlocks walls. Just really ā€œnot smartā€ on them.

Throwing implies intent which people can still do, being bad at game isn’t throwing, because competency of game is relative.

You might want to check your math. If you win 50% of a 100 games you complete both requirements. Of course they can stack, the devs could also just enforce both requirements concurrently.

People will still throw - they just won’t do it in games that they think they can win.

If they think they are in a game that they will lose, they will throw just to end the game and get out of it ASAP rather than dragging it out, then have the matchmaker put them into a game they can win.

Essentially, people would rather lose a game on the first point in 5 minutes rather than drag it out to the last point and still lose, but have it take 10 minutes.

We don’t know. they likely will change the grind requirements for OW2.

Its possible that an OW level is not the same as an OW2 level.

There won’t be levels in OW1 anymore. I was asking if reaching lvl 25 in OW1 is longer or shorter than to win 50 quick plays in OW2.

But it might take twice more time to finish a game in OW2 than in OW1 if Quick play will follow ranked rules in OW2

50 wins is like 2-3 times faster actually. If I remember it right 1-25 requires you 350k xp total.
you gain 3.5 xp per second in game + 300 xp consecutive bonus +600 xp for a win, and mb group bonus (20%). Avg match time is 7-10 mins. Therefore, 2400 avg per game. Then it takes you about 150-200 games to reach 1-25.
If your winrate would be 50-50, all you need is to play 100 matches basically, which is 2 times less than original. The better winrate is, the fewer matches to play.

Looking at Xbox Achievement Hunter, 100 wins achievement is similar in percent to Level 50. It seems that most people hit level 50 around the same time as 100 wins (44-45% of players).
