5 stacks should only face 5 and 4 stacks

I mainly duo queue with my brother and it almost feels like we always get placed against 5 stacks in qp, it’s to the point where I just don’t want to play the game during certain timeframes because I know the likelihood of facing a 5 stack is high.

After match all I have to do is check friends lists and one guy usually has all 4 of the others added. It’s just almost impossible to beat them if I’m only a duo since they’re constantly on comms, I just want more of a fair match.

It doesn’t matter what you play vs, you still play vs the MatchMaker tho. Play in 5 stack and you’ll soon realize you just can’t beat 1-2 smurf solos that MM sends on your stack to compensate for “teamplay” at all. Stacking is more punishing than soloing to my experience. Solo is so easy, MM just favors you more and this is so obvious for me.

Totally agree, but then it still becomes unfair unless every matchup is mirrored in their arrangement.

If you get your way and you only face 3 stacks or fewer, the game is decided by which side has the smurf vs console player in the group. That is something the matchmaker can detect but won’t prevent matching up with. If it’s you as a Duo vs 5 randoms, you are unfairly advantaged.

It’s either total mirror match, or this mess we have today. I wish they did mirror, but Blizz just won’t do that. Only solution I can see is like GM where you limit groups to 2. Unfortunately won’t happen.

4 stacks should just be banned, cause they always draw a soloqueuer in. All games should be 2-3 stacks together, and 5stacks against each other. All other games should be soloqueue all around.

This is true, but a 5stack is significantly more coordinated than solo q and that makes it even worse. You can get out of stomps sometimes, but a stomp vs a 5stack? Never, literally impossible.

Same and it’s legit driving me insane. Three out of 6 matches last night was my duo, another duo and a solo versus 2 different 5 stacks.

Even worse is how many console groups we have to play with. Like, can you please just match console groups with console groups? I don’t want 2 console players on my team while the enemy has none.

5-stacks and 4-stacks should only play with other 5-stacks and 4-stacks. If their queues are longer, oh well too bad.

Trios and duos should play together.

Putting a trio and a duo or 2 duos and a solo versus a 5 stack majorly blows. We’re in two different VC parties, they’re in one. Yes, sometimes the skill advantage helps win vs the stack, but the matchmaker doesn’t seem to be taking that into account as much in OW2 as it did in OW1. It feels often like the stack is equally skilled or more so than the random collection of duos, trios, solos.

And a bunch of higher-skilled solos would instantly notice that, and they are highly-motivated to beat that advantage having the skill in communication and in general. Nobody holds them to not act as a team, but most of the time it is not even needed to beat a 5-stack, as the MM gives you easy favors. 1–2 switches and this 5-stack structure falls appart, and they blame MM already. This is the reality that nobody talks here, and it is just like that most of the time, unless you are min-maxing the rating by yourself having higher-skilled players in your stack than their current account ranks.

You exaggerate stack importance, when MM manipulation is such an easy way to win both solo and stacking no matter what. Min-maxing is a tool along with smurf accounts.
5-stack won’t become magically stronger unless you let them be and don’t mirror their performance on will. It is much more engaging to win them as you see 5 “Player in group” message popped as you invite each of them to group to check. I usually tell my team of solos that we have the MM on our side but we need to talk if we want to win. If nobody responds, then I do not care. In this case, it is not 5-stack winning you, it is a just bunch of solos refuse to win.
