5 minute queue times

Game is dying fast blizzard get it together

That’s a ratio issue not a total number of players issue.

Where are you seeing high queue times - in 5v5 or 6v6, OP?

There is certainly something weird going on lmao

6v6
<7min <18min <15min

5v5
<5min <8min <8min

This is like 7am EST with 30k players concurrent on Steam. This is kind of a dead time, but even for a dead time for an avg amount of PC players this is kind of weird. I’m often used to <1min for everything even at dead times.

What mode, what region, and what’s your local time OP?

You could save everyone a lot of running around in circles by answering these like Veluna did. Those things all impact it.

Is this comp or QuickPlay? Those are pretty long unless it’s GM comp. But if it’s QuickPlay that’s a lot even for off times.

This is like plat to diamond for all of the roles for QP. Comp is actually more reasonable.

Are those just the estimates or the actual queue times? Because the estimates regularly just lie

What you really mean is fluctuate heavily. We don’t get a bar graph over time to see how our estimates change, but if you keep it open and check back repeatedly you’ll see new estimations. Over say like 10-20sec intervals.

Frequently, my estimations for QP are <1-2min for every role. Resulting match times will be 1-3min. Its rare to see estimations go over 10min for me ever and stay consistent estimated as such for a long time. Very weird to see estimations for all roles doing something like this.

That is weird. Very weird.

5m to end up stuck in a bad game.

The estimated queue times have gone all out of wack! :face_with_monocle:

That means there is a shortage of tanks not players. We lost tank players.

actually

as N–> large it is a ratio issue.

for small N it’s more of a players issue.

where N is players and we know it’s both dead AND bottlenecked.

That’s not how proof works.

Where’s the data to support this.

Never had many. Lose a few and the issue multiplies.

The same issue MR will have if and when they do role queue.

You’re playing with 9 other humans. There’s always the possiblity every game you have is bad. Just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Wasn’t this expected though? You’re splitting the playerbase among two different core formats, with players from certain roles more likely to gravitate toward one format over the other. I don’t believe this can be done without hindering the queues, unless they loosen matchmaking further.

it’s an algebraic claim based on derived results.

for large N it’s a ratio issue for small N it’s a player issue, as per queueing theory 101.

queue times are queue times. if the game is dead queues go up regardless of role mismatch. if game is popular, role mismatch is the bottleneck.

I think its a bug

I had some of those yesterday, and I never waited more than a minute after noon

Yall asked for 6v6 but nobody came to play with you? Poor pepegas

So you have no data. Just an opinion on what you think is happening.

Ok.
