This is getting really tiresome. I’m not even that picky, the one game I did actually stick around to play was on Survasa and that’s not exactly a fan favorite map. Literally any Clash, Payload, hybrid, or Flashpoint map I’m fine with. Even 2CP I’d be happy with if that was still in the rotation. But no the game has to keep trying to force me onto the only 2 modes I have a problem with because this is for some reason the only first person shooter in human history where you have no option but to queue for every single gamemode at the same time
If you had to leave 4 out of 5 games… You are overly picky.
I digress, at this point, there probably should be at least mode selection for quickplay. That being said, if in the future we have 6v6 role and open and 5v5 role and open… There ain’t going to be much room without stretching our playerbase thin. Especially with arcade and customs.
“Payload, Escort”, is one of these Push and do these include Hybrid lumped in the package? If yes to both, then what’s left out of your list of preferred modes? Control? Alternatively, Control and Push are the modes that you tend to dodge?
My guide, I kind of understand, if it was an unlucky streak of map selection.
I always leave Push and Flashpoint immediately at setup, and if the queue feels ugly like on weekends with all the throwers and new players, I won’t play some control maps either. I’ve certainly had of those maps come up consecutively for a streak of five.
It is because nobody wants to play them. A lot of people leave those maps and therefore they are missing a player and while you are queueing, you get beamed into that nonsense. It’s tragic.
hot actually maps - but
Had to leave 4 maps in a row cause was getting the same 4 stack against me… love it
also leave clash ones as I see them, other maps are ok exept Numbani
I skip quite a few maps - flash always, sometimes push but always NQS, Numbani, oasis, busan, nepal, any widow map (circuit, havana, jt).
And now I added to the mix that I also skip if the tank is in a group. I don’t have time to check if they are duo with support or not, but most often they are.
Since I started skipping games with a grouped tank on the other team, the quality of my games has gone up noticeably. Nothing worse as tank than facing a tank with 1 or 2 supports in their group giving all their attention. The tank just never dies way too often in those games and can play hyper-aggressively compared to someone with an unknown level of support (they almost always play rein or queen for some reason when they have pocket support).
should be probably just a preference setting: if queues are good it will try to respect your favorite modes and relegate your disliked modes to the bottom.
Seems like they should just take a poll or go off the maps that are left most often by players and just make them a far less percentage chance of players getting them.
If it’s really bad where a specific map or map mode is dodged a lot, might need to consider scrapping said map/map mode.
For me, Clash and Flashpoint are boring.
Clash feels way too linear, even though you can take some off angles/flanks, it’s mostly feels like 2 teams just running at each other head first mixed with a terrible tug-of-war style of fights.
Just watered down, go shoot some enemies, to hell with any real tactics/strategy.
Flashpoint is still a walking simulator. 5 second to walk from the back of spawn to the spawn exit and that little boost they added in at the spawn doors buys you 1 extra second back and then the walk back to the fight isn’t great, only worse if you happen to get a bad spawn and have to walk double the distance that time around.
To me it’s interesting that these are both the latest modes added and they feel like the opposite of each other with Clash being “just run forward and you’re in a chaotic fight 2 seconds later” and Flashpoint being, just walk 10 miles from spawn with nothing happening. How they couldn’t find a middle point between these two, but found the extremes of both is beyond me.
it takes humility to accept you made poor designs and stuff.
doubt current team can take such hard pills, remove all the least liked modes and throw them as arcade, the ones that “lovee ” these modes can go play there.
I just feel there is no time for some cheeky flanking. It´s no dive map but rush… I wouldn´t be surprised when they release a third map of clash they get it right like the last push map we got! I would say that map is fun and you can be sneaky with the side routs,
Best part Widow don´t have any great places to be…
