5 Easy Tips to stay comfy in Bronze 5 forever

**EEVERYONE SHARE YOUR TIPS BELOW!!!
(We need a guide to stay out of icky Gold and above)

Tip 1: Never even listen to voice chat, no less participate!

They might say something that will hurt your feelings so never listen to teammates again. They might also give good callouts and notify you where to be and how to coordinate. Heck they might even give you a constructive recommendation on how to improve… #shudder!

Tip 2: (everyone’s favorite) Pick a support you can concentrate on DPSing with.

You know Elims are the only way to win, so pay close attention to the enemy the whole time and never look around at your teammates when you choose healer. You might accidentally heal before they need it when you could be doing trash damage instead. The whole team is counting on you to carry with those kills! At the end of the game when you lose, at least you know your eliminations and damage prove you did your part!

Tip 3: On payload defense maps where all you have to do is stall the enemy, play super risky!

Just run straight up to their spawn point where they respawn in 10 seconds so you can get them kills. Who cares if you have a 3 hour walk back! What could happen in that time? Just know for sure that you will successfully bully every team you come across every game no matter how many times that led to your full team being wiped. Why wasn’t the healer there for you, after all?

Tip 4: As soon as you spawn, run straight in.

Don’t look around and see what’s going on. Take the fasted path straight in no matter what. This game is all about speed. There’s a countdown, right? So get out there and 1v5 if you have to. Sitting around waiting for teammates is a complete waste of time. If you were any good you’d just kill al the enemies when you got there.

Tip 5: Never pay attention to the lynchpin of the team: The Tank.

Who cares what they are up to? Doesn’t matter where they are going. So what if they die? Never back down. Falling back is losing backwards! Who cares if the tank pushes in. It’s scary in there. That’s the time to really play it safe and back off, maybe even find a good flanking position while the tank dies. There’s only one tank because they are pointless.
*If you are a tank, see tip 4. (Just use the secret permanent invincibility button)

Bonus Tips:

  • Always ignore back-liners. That’s those squishy healers problem, You’ve got killin to do!
  • Never attack enemy healers. They are so slippery and hard to hit. It’s so much more fun to shoot the tank.
  • Run in front of the tank and block with your face. It works better than that tank’s stupid shield or armor. The healer will handle it…
  • Ult randomly. Keeps the enemy guessing
  • Health packs are poisonous. Steer clear!

lol holy crap man. Sounds like you had a bad day

if you just go to youtube and find a good streamer you like and watch for some tips and tricks, and perhaps make sure you haven’t done something to hinder yourself like not realizing you are playing the game in 30 FPS, or failing to have optimal settings (graphics / hardware etc like not realizing you have some janky USB cable connecting your mouse with like 0.5 seconds latency) it will be almost impossible for you to stay in bronze man. I promise you.

Your comment had me rolling

I like that text you wrote here :ok_hand:

Tip:
Most people don’t know that supports don’t need LoS to heal you.
Not only that, the heals actually land for more if you spam “I need a heal” while more that fifty yards away.
So make sure you’re far away and never in los with your supports, They’ll thank you for boosting their numbers!

plz make sure you hide behind an object if you are close enough to be healed by your healer though. and make sure when you see your healer trying to rotate to see you around the object that you counter rotate while spamming you need healing.

I promise it will make your support very happy and likely you will be making their day.

I got out of bronze by going Zenyatta and getting my K/D above 2. I’d still heal, but there is only so much healing that Zenyatta can do. When I played Mercy, I just couldn’t rank up.

Of course, I’d do more healing as a live Zenyatta than a dead Mercy. One thing about Zenyatta is he can defend himself against flankers. There is no peel in Bronze, so supports can either escape or win duels or die. Winning duels is the best.

I’ve seen bronze to GM videos with DPS only supports. 0 heals. you just gotta be gud

I think I have a better chance of walking outside right now and seeing a unicorn than actually hearing comms worth listening to in low elo.

Why would I want to hear that from a bronze player. Lol.

VC is super overrated and basically useless in low elo solo queue, just saying.

I feel what this man is saying.

Open que my season high is Gold 1 (currently G3).
Just started playing role matches and started by support. Season high is G3 (currently G4).

Now some stats to you regarding my open que:

  • I play 35% dps (Sym) / 35% tank (Orisa or Zarya) / 30% support (Moira)
  • my win rate is around 55% on open que- better as dps and tank and much lower when I play support. When I do is usually a desperate call. Only sup on the team because no one chose it or because the sups abandoned their role mid-fight (not complaining, it’s open que).

On support role que:

  • I play mainly Moira, but sometimes Zen
  • my win rate is around 48%

I think I’m a decent average player. Probably better tank and sup than dps

Recently o started playing Tank role. I am Bronze 5. I’m just stuck there.
There’s nothing I do right now that get me out of there.
I’m being matched with other bronze players. The skill difference from gold/plat support players to bronze players is huge.

The whole bronze match is a shaite show. I can deal a fair amount of damage and get a good E amount, but I also die a lot since I don’t have healing.
If I choose to stay alive I have to play conservative and the other team advances.
Stats are just trash around the board. Skill level vary widely across bronze players. Some of them are pretty good and are certainly grinding to get out of there. Others are just clearly getting started at the game or have an ego the size of the earth. You ask them to focus a bit more on healing and they literally invest the rest of the match trashing you on the chat instead of fighting.

So ye. I truly believe that you WILL climb out of bronze if your skill is better than that, but it’s not super easy.

Yes, generally you should run into complex corridors of tight spaces to maximize healer safety.

Hey! No seriousness here! Fine… Yes there are theoretically times to slightly “play wrong” for ranking out of crapsville, but literally everyone at that rank thinks they are going to carry and that’s why it’s so bad. Besides, with zen it’s sorta set-and-forget, so you’re probably not being a typical DPS healer that doesn’t heal.

When playing with 4 other GMs, sure… and that was probably 6 man teams. With only one tank the importance of role focus has changed.

Because if you’re a tank you should be up front and if you’re a support you should be in back. There’s a simple viewing angle advantage some players have over others.

claps

And there’s the point gloating privileged clowns will never comprehend. The obscene amount of work to rank up a low account compared to a higher rank account. I can rank a silver to gold 3 times as fast as a bronze to silver.

I know because I have to rank my wife’s account up repeatedly to not have to play in a bronze hellscape.

And GOD is a fresh new account a relief! Placed in high silver or gold across the board to start makes me weep with solace!

Did you reply to the wrong person or something? Wtf does that have to do with what I said

I thought you were saying there was no point to listen to bronze voice. Was that not what you meant? I was just saying there’s a very specific strategic advantage even in bronze. That make sense?

Oh. Well fortunately I’m not a complete ape and actually have the ability to hear and look behind me, maybe if you lack those things then you need VC (assuming people actually talk about the game and aren’t just raging, playing music over the mic, eating on open mic, or just being general noise pollution)

Don’t bother, I won’t ever be convinced that callouts are necessary.

Well I’m glad you’re sticking to the advice of this thread. You’re exactly the audience I hoped all these tips would reach.

Tip 6: Do everything in your power to control the match and everyone in it. And then cry when nobody wants to hear you.

I agree. Shameless trolling does’t belong in video games. Easy way to erase it all.

Make sure to always type after every kill, every teammate death, or just in general. Call it GG when someone picks a hero you don’t like. Call it GG when you get a map you don’t like.

WPM > APM

It’s a time tested, tried & true method.

Sigh…

Instead of being scared of having one bad interaction out for 65 good ones, you could just mute the one annoying player every once in a while.

And then you might also learn something, or even develop a thick skin against people being frustrated. heck even develop some patience with emotional people or learn how to chill them out.

Genuinely horrible people in voice really isn’t that frequent even though frustration is. Try separating people into two categories. Vicious and frustrated are two radically different things. One is their permanent state, the other is a temporary lack of emotional control.

One is forgivable, the other we all hope qualifies for a Darwin award.

omg this , this so true :stuck_out_tongue:
